Oh god, MsHoolies.Sad

Can I add, please look after yourself too.Flowers

You're at the sharp end dealing with the real life consequences of shit that's been intentionally created by people in comfortable offices with a warm home to go to and food in the fridge.

You end up feeling bad, because you're up close to what's happening. And the people responsible don't even have to see it.

I worry about the toll it takes on you and other professionals on the frontline, as well as on the direct victims of the cuts.

PerkingFaintly · 05/05/2017 23:20

lionheart, I reckon you're spot on.

SanFranBear · 06/05/2017 00:21

Hope you're ok, MsHoolie... no words other than I am in awe of you Flowers

SanFranBear · 06/05/2017 00:28

This makes for interesting reading - and shows just how thin and delicate Scrotus' skin is...

I like Stephen Colbert although he is ripping Randy Rainbow off a little in his mock interviews.

Wow,the Fake News media did everything in its power to make the Republican Healthcare victory look as bad as possible.Far better than Ocare!

Why is it that the Fake News rarely reports Ocare is on its last legs and that insurance companies are fleeing for their lives? It's dead!

woman12345 · 06/05/2017 00:43

Stephen Colbert Halo the pricktator is a bit antsy? I always thought Colbert is so brave and southern charm funny.
"You want your life back? sir so do we."

cozietoesie · 06/05/2017 00:49

It appears to be levelled against one particular remark. (The investigation that is - not 45's fury.)

Great jobs report today - It is all beginning to work!

TheClaws · 06/05/2017 01:24

Re: about whether heartland support is wavering due to the Healthcare repeal - read the Breitbart comments (as much as you can stomach, anyway) and you'll see otherwise. Some are starting to question, and perhaps some have stopped commenting there altogether, but generally it would seem what we are hearing and what they are hearing are two different things. They subbornly see the new system as a good thing. I do think as long as anything branded 'Obama' disappears, they are happy.

Russia isn't pleased about the possibility of this.

(Via RT) Regarding the possible passing of a bill "allowing the US Navy to enforce sanctions on North Korea through the control of Russian ports is a violation of international law, and is equal to a declaration of war".

I have MS. I feel very lucky to live in a country where my medical needs are covered. My medication can cost thousands a month in the US. Here I receive it FREE. There is a tax subsidy, but it's small compared to the benefits received. I'm currently undergoing an 8-week rehabilitation program through a private hospital with physio, OT and hydrotherapy - also free. I see a top neurologist twice a year and have 6 monthly MRI imaging at no cost to me. So when I read about what the GOP have to people in the US the preexisting conditions, i want to punch the screen. Sad. You deserve so much better than this.

Watching CNN now and the nominee for Army Secretary has withdrawn "following a backlash after past controversial statements on LGBT issues, Islam and evolution were revealed."

Another one.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/05/2017 02:11

Rachel Maddow reporting massive hacking attack on French 'En Marche' party with dump of emails and internal documents mixed with planted false documents. Attack identical to one that took place during the US election. Dump took place 4 minutes before the French election day news blackout.

Developing story

AcrossthePond55 · 06/05/2017 02:14

Attack presumably done to discredit Macron just like the attack here was done to discredit Hillary.

It is being presumed that the hacking groups in this attack are the same as the US hackers.

Lweji · 06/05/2017 02:14

They stubbornly see the new system as a good thing. I do think as long as anything branded 'Obama' disappears, they are happy.

Until they lose their jobs or get ill. Luckily for them, unemployment is low, but in some areas it will have a big impact.

As for Colbert, I'm sure being under fire will only increase his TV ratings. Bigly ratings and that will upset the Trump even more.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/05/2017 02:16

Documents were apparently stolen a few weeks ago and held to release specifically at this time.

Jeez Louise! Does this not just infuriate you?

Lweji · 06/05/2017 02:29

They are desperate. Unlike Clinton, who was on a downward slope before the election and was caught up in a regular cyclic narrowing to Trump, Macron is increasing in the polls.

Le Pen seems to have been hurt by reportedly offending (or not) previous Fillon supporters.

Fingers crossed.

CaveMum · 06/05/2017 02:30

I'd say it's pretty obvious that Russia (either the State or "rogue" operators) are behind the Macron campaign hack. A destabilised Europe (which is what we'll get if Le Pen gets in) is in Russia's interests.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/05/2017 02:35

I would hope that France will launch a thorough investigation and if it's proven the hackers are the same, share all intel with the US Intelligence community AND Congress.

France will have the benefit of not having an administration actively doing everything it can to quash the investigation, shield conspirators, and discredit valid sources.

Lweji · 06/05/2017 02:41

Hopefully.

I do wonder what effects it can have in future. Perhaps a directed attack on Russia's hacking capabilities, but not much can officially be done except to cut diplomatic ties or more sanctions.

AcrossthePond55 · 06/05/2017 02:55

I agree. And I think that Russia knows there isn't much that can be done, other than exposing them for what they are. And I doubt very much they care about that.

But just maybe if the outcry and exposure is 'yuge' enough Scrotus et al will be forced to cut ties with them.

Lweji · 06/05/2017 02:59

Oh, the consequences for Trump and friends can be yuge, if it can be shown that they were in collusion. Just not much for Russia. While they wreak havoc across Western elections and potentially governments.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 06/05/2017 06:33

Ronald Klain @RonaldKlain
Surely, as leader of the Free World, @realDonaldTrump will blast the Russians for this assault on a democratic ally of the USA. Surely.
