My lovely 10-yr-old Nokia is my main phone. I'm coaxing it along with battery replacements, and just hope it can keep going.

Natsku · 03/05/2017 22:02

Mine is just a year or so old - they still sell old style Nokia's here (they're bringing out a new version of the classic Nokia soon as well, tempted to get that)

Ah.

'Despite declining the appearance, Rice's lawyer assured Graham and Whitehouse in the letter that she was "prepared to assist Congressional inquiries into Russian election interference because of the important national interests at stake, provided they are conducted in a bipartisan manner, and, as appropriate, in classified session."

NK rebukes China

Lweji · 03/05/2017 22:32

AFAIK, NK and China always had a sort of love-hate relationship. Supposedly both Communist but different.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2017 22:34

China has just 're-sourced' coal supplies. That's one heck of a message.

I feel a little sad that Finland never had an empire. If it did saunas would be moar popular.

They would never catch on here because of the nakedness. To paraphrase Churchill, we will fight you in our britches... I would be up for Tove Jansson's Summer Book being a required text. It is marvellous. My children thoroughly enjoyed hearing it as their bedtime story too.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2017 22:52

Just so, Ginger. From the sound of things, anyway.

Or scapegoat target, I imagine.

Surprised that nobody picked up on the microwave threat and associated it with Samsung and SK.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 03/05/2017 23:00

Its not my microwave that bothers me so much as our newish Samsung smart TV which is <a class="break-all" href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-31296188www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-31296188" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">listening.

I would feel almost duty bound to provide it with something 'interesting' then. Grin

Since 2 GOP switched votes they have enough to pass #TrumpCare2 bill with vote scheduled for tomorrow.

Almost impossible to clear Senate.
My guess is the GOP acts like the accomplishment is just the bill passing the House & then it will stall—probably forever. #trumpcare2

GingerIvy · 04/05/2017 00:21

Lweji yes, re target/scapegoat, I thought that too. There were tons of comments under that article about "what's she trying to hide" "lock her up" "subpoena her ass" and such. People are so stupid. The article SAYS that a bipartisan review consisting of multiple people have already stated that she did nothing wrong.

cozietoesie · 04/05/2017 00:23

It will provide him with the 'win' he so clearly craves.

May truly is a disgrace.

It was bad enough that she started an election with nonsense paranoia about parliamentarians trying to sabotage Brexit.

It was bad enough that she wasted two crucial months of Article 50 by holding a general election entirely for self-interested reasons.

Now she comes out with this lunatic crap about mysterious figures in Brussels "who do not want these talks to succeed"?

She is making up delusional, hateful rubbish about events being "deliberately timed to affect the result of the general election".

This isn't just inadequate. She's now herself actively sabotaging the chances of a deal, the precise thing she accused opponents of.

This will be heard loud and clear across the Channel. She is hardening backs, poisoning the atmosphere, turning waverers against us.

There's no way you can twist this to pretend it will improve our chances in talks. She is now directly acting against the national interest.

I am honestly not sure I have ever seen a more irresponsible comment by a British prime minister. I am genuinely fucking horrified.

And there's a whole general election campaign to go. What will she be saying by early June I wonder?

Unspeakable. OK. Rant over.
