The FBI director had told Congress that he had closed the investigation to Clinton - so at that point they knew there had been an investigation but it had been closed.

So when the FBI reopened it, they decided to tell Congress because it had been shut but now it had been reopened.

They hadn't said anything about Trump being investigated because no one had asked and no investigation had been closed. So why mention it?

Mensch used to be besties with the jester on Twitter, but then a while ago they had a tiff about something and she started accusing him of being a Russian spy. I am really not sure I care or that it matters that much to be honest. According to Mensch anyone who has ever so much as looked at a computer, seen a Russian, or known someone who once was in the same place as a Russian is a spy. It gets a bit tedious to be honest

On the other hand, now I read it there is an enjoyable soap opera element about it....who will be uncovered as a secret Russian agent next? Perhaps the queen? Or even...dah, dah daaaahhh...mensch herself, in a shocking end of series twist!

There was talk of subpoenas by Cummings, I think, but I don't know how far they've got with that or even if they've started the process. It might've just been an option he was suggesting they considered.
