FACT CHECK:

Grassley's opening statement is stunning. He's trying to implicate Obama, Clinton & FBI in wrongdoing to deflect from Russia.

Senate vote on advancing repeal of Obama era rule allowing retirement accounts for small business employees.

Our legislators hard at work. NOT!

Comey seems v highly strung today. He was much more laid back before the House.

AcrossthePond55 · 03/05/2017 15:55

Just found the live feed. WTF are Hatch & Comey talking about? I though this was about Russia/Trump hacking. They're talking about the Scouts and the fingerprint data base.

Am I down the rabbit hole or was this whole "Oooh, FBI director is going to testify bigly" just another diversion tactic?

Natsku · 03/05/2017 15:56

Are they trying to divert too?

Lweji · 03/05/2017 16:03

Comey seems v highly strung today.

You can only imagine the pressure he's been under.

Republicans are trying to rush a vote on a healthcare bill that no healthcare or patient group supports & they have no CBO score. Madness.

cozietoesie · 03/05/2017 16:17

They'll likely get it through, Ginger. Stay calm.

AcrossthePond55 · 03/05/2017 16:20

Me too Ginger. They're saying the delay on the vote is now until Thurs evening but that they will not bring it to a vote until they're sure they have the votes. This could go on for a very long time. I think they should have a time period in which to bring things to a vote or they're dead issues.

Much what was said in that opinion piece above.

AcrossthePond55 · 03/05/2017 17:13

I hope their strategy works pain. I'm just concerned it will have no effect on Trump's fan's votes because a vote fail won't hurt them. They'll just blame the Dems for it not passing. For their vote to change I think they'll actually have to be hurt and lose coverage which would only happen with it passing. And that will hurt too many innocent people.

Lweji · 03/05/2017 17:15

For their vote to change I think they'll actually have to be hurt and lose coverage which would only happen with it passing

Sad but probably true.
Many won't have yet realised what repeal means.
