Texting while driving

DH texts and drives sometimes. He has managed to not get into any accidents (yet...) but yesterday he almost hit a car stopped in front of us because he was texting Angry

I have told him multiple times that I am not comfortable with him texting while I'm in the car but he just told me he never forced me to get in the car with him. AIBU to ask him to stop texting and driving??

Tell him if he wants to kill himself to do it elsewhere, where he isn't putting you and all the other road users and pedestrians at risk.

What an arsehole. Shame him to friends and family at every opportunity. Would make a good Facebook status too, and make sure you tag him in it. He may realise it's not just you being a bit mardy when others start telling him what a knob he is.

No. YNBU and you should also refuse to get in the car with him.

He's obviously not able to concentrate regardless anyway given this part of your post:

but yesterday he almost hit a car stopped in front of us because he was texting angry.

Also. If he's doing it that obliviously someone will notice it soon and they will report him. They're cracking down on this a hell of a lot more now and thank God they are too.

"Hey Siri, tell Dave that I'm running late and will be there in 20 minutes"

"Hey Siri, read my unread messages"

Hands free texting isn't rocket science

Deadsouls · 15/04/2017 22:25

Selfish and dangerous.

Lorelaiandrory · 15/04/2017 22:27

Look at this then decide. I don't know why you even need to ask.

No text is worth someone's life

NoBetterName I agree. I dont drive and have 2 DCs in OOC school. Because of my health issues, I regularly can't walk it first thing in the morning and have to get a taxi. The amount of drivers that would whip their phone out whilst driving with me and the kids in the back. Didnt need to say much on each occasion as it was written all over my face. Shock

I know what you mean about a higher position too. Was on the bus with DCs other day. Sat upstairs because they badgered wanted me too. As I was looking out the window I even saw a lady driving a minibus on her mobile phone on a dual carriageway type road!
The police officers had started intercepting some by travelling on the upstairs of buses somewhere in the UK but apparently that was mean and they were simply spying on drivers Hmm

I hope this utter wanker gets caught before he kills or maims someone.

supermoon100 · 15/04/2017 22:32

Why not give him a bottle of beer whilst he's at it

Deadsouls · 15/04/2017 22:37

Is he the 'World's Busiest Person' thereby unable to stop texting whilst driving? Seriously he's an idiot for doing this.

Ellie56 · 15/04/2017 22:51

He is an arrogant twat. Why are you even getting in the car with him?

AuroraBora · 15/04/2017 22:57

How do you sleep next to him at night?

I'm not one for drastic measures usually, but I would be snatching the phone off him as soon as he got it out and tearing a strip off him. And I wouldn't hold back.

However, I find texting whilst driving absolutely disgusting and would want my other half to know that.

fannydaggerz · 16/04/2017 00:05

Your DH is an asshole.

I can't stand it when I see people on their phones when they're driving.

I would refuse to get in the car.
