To reminisce about The Wiggles?

I know, I know. We were pretty late to The Wiggles wagon, but a thought struck me tonight about how ds2 was OBSESSED only 8/9 short years ago and now he's....well, nearly 11 and into FIFA
I miss Jeff and Dorothy. And especially Anthony. Grin

I think my exposure to the Wiggles was during a previous line up? Somewhere between the original four, and the substitute Yellow Wiggle, only the original one eventually came back from illness , if I remember rightly...? I had reason to look up a YouTube video of their version of the Banana Boat Song recently (don't ask), and it was pretty disturbing, especially the dancing sailor girls and the sinister baby boat captain...

My soft spot was for Captain Feathersword, who always sounds like a fetish club...

Haha, dd was given the octopus (this guy) by a friend with older kids, which was sitting on her bed one evening when she had a strop about bedtime.
She launched Henry forcibly at the wall, and nearly had to be peeled off the ceiling when he started to sing and dance, waving all eight tentacles in a mad caper round the room Grin
Then having inadvertently switched it on, we discovered the bugger had no off switch. Spookily, he had no on switch either Hmm

Its on Netflix. Later series I think. DS loves it. Songs are very catchy

Red Wiggle and Yellow Wiggle got married, not sure if they are having a baby

I remember driving round Canada with a wiggles DVD in that would play on loop so dd didn't complain. When in park the screen would switch on so getting her out the car was a pain!!

If red wiggle and yellow wiggle had a baby surely it would be an orange wiggle?
We saw the original Wiggles on their last ever tour, when they introduced the new Wiggles. They sang waltzing Matilda as their goodbye song - it was very moving.

Oh yeah. The Wiggles. My DC didn't really get into them. Which I was glad of, apart from their "federation does child entertainment" uniforms they had a really weird way of looking at the camera when talking to each other. Very creepy for me.

Gah, it's Lachy and Emma (the PURPLE and yellow wiggles) that got married. No babies.

We were at a Wiggles concert a few weeks ago and my eldest dad is happy that she regularly serves the original yellow wiggle at work

My DC love fruit salad for breakfast and we always sing the fruit salad song. We have a Wiggles DVD and it has special guests Rolf HarrisConfusedand Steve Irwin Sad

OK, have long have you got...

Firstly, no, it's purple Wiggle (Lachy) and yellow Wiggle (Emma) who are married. Simon is the big, unnecessarily tall Wiggle who does all the weird singing in the random deep voice.

I am 41 and without a word of a lie, my first concert experience as an adult was seeing the Wiggles (the original line up) in Melbourne. I took my nephews who loved it. Then years later, I took my DS now 7 to see them at Wembley.

My children don't seek out the Wiggles DVDs any more, but when they do (or when I put one on for the memories) they are ENTHRALLED. I will take them (now have DS4 as well) to the concert this summer and I know they'll love it.

I don't get the Anthony (Blue wiggle) love though. He was/is certainly good looking, but I don't think I can ever get over his treatment of Sam (the second Yellow wiggle after Greg, the first yellow wiggle left due to ill health then was ceremoniously displaced by the first Yellow wiggle again for reasons which I wouldn't want to speculate upon ) In fact, even Murray (first Red Wiggle) who I always thought had a kind heart, treated Sam badly and my love for the wholesome Wiggles never really recovered.

Anyway, yay, I can't wait to take my DS's as, although they'll never replace the real line up, I think they're great. And they remind me of home!

Aww the wiggles ❤️
I love them. My dd is thirteen and they were such a big part of her toddler years.
I remember watching neighbours when she was little and they walked into the coffee shop! Wasn't sure if I was dreaming at the time!
In fact, talking of dreaming, the shows have a very dream like quality don't they. They're very sweet and just a bit odd! (In a good way).
Got my youngest dd into them as well. The yellow one (I think) had been replaced by then. I bought her a dvd of a compilation of their songs which was really random! They had kylie minogue, Leo sayer, Steve irwin and rolph Harris on there, singing and dancing along with the wiggles!
Who are the two having a baby? Are they the original wiggles?

I've just had to google Yellow Wiggle to realise that Greg was replaced by a female Wiggle. I had no idea!!!! I've missed so much during the last 8 years....

I had a big post-birth hormonal thing going for Anthony but - he had Botox and this coincided with my hormones returning to normal ... and so our fantasy relationship evaporated Smile
I had massive hots for him though

I only unsubscribed from their email list last year and I almost cried
