I know, I know. We were pretty late to The Wiggles wagon, but a thought struck me tonight about how ds2 was OBSESSED only 8/9 short years ago and now he's....well, nearly 11 and into FIFA
I miss Jeff and Dorothy. And especially Anthony. Grin

About 7 years ago I nannied a little girl who adored them...and there my deep love of them started!!

I took her to see them twice when they toured in the uk and it was ace Grin

Sam came in right at the end of our Wiggle-era

It was really sad when Greg left

Sam had worked with them I thought for years prior I thought so sad if it was as suggested above Shock

Dd, who is 8, will still unashamedly watch the Wiggles after all these years. I noticed Anthony's teeth seem to be rivalling Simon Cowell's in their blinding whiteness. We have a DVD with Kylie Minogue accompanying them on Monkey Man, which is one of DH's favourite old ska/reggae tunes - they're nothing if not eclectic Grin.

YANBU at all.

Our now 13 and 10 year olds were into them when they were younger and we've seen them live twice; the first time when DC2 was still a bump. DS had a Captain Feathersword costume and DD had a Dorothy dress and we bought her a Dorothy tail at the concert. She still has the tail, although she has long since grown out of the dress. :)

I love them too and have seen them 3 times with DC. Some with Sam and some with Greg. Miss the original line up and Greg had an amazing voice.

Is 'skivvy' just an Australian word for 'shirt'? When I was reading about the whole Sam/Greg controversy, it was mostly Australian newspapers talking about the 'yellow skivvy', which for a non-Australian conjures up an odd set of images of some exploited Cinderella doing the drudgery....

StUmbrageinSkelt · 13/04/2017 09:51

Skivvy is those terrible tops they wear. Yes they were terrible to poor Sam.

My DH was doing a book signing when they came into the store to do promotions of their first video. They were not even remotely famous. He said they were very nice.

saffronwblue · 13/04/2017 09:52

Yes skivvies are their tops - not quite polo necks. I too thought Anthony was the best. Captain feather sword deeply annoyed me. Apparently when they started out there was a 5th wiggle, like the Beatles. My friend had the first ever album with the extra wiggle on it.

FlyAwayPeter · 13/04/2017 10:40

As The Cockroaches, they were much sexier.

DandelionAndBedrock · 13/04/2017 10:46

When it is wet play, I pop their cd on and dance around with my KS1 class.

Do I win a best teacher award now? Grin

Chavelita · 13/04/2017 10:51

So a skivvy is a lightweight turtleneck? Youtube gets me lots of videos for 'skivvy roll' which I first assumed was going to be a dance, until it turned out to be to do with packing... Grin

I remember years ago getting into an argument with a male American friend who found the word 'top', when used of male clothes worn on the upper part of the body 'weird' and 'feminine'... I'd never thought of 'top' as gendered.
