AIBU to cringe whenever I hear this lyric? (by The Weeknd)

This one (I Feel It Coming)

Tell me what you really like
Baby, I can take my time
We don't ever have to fight
Just take it step-by-step
I can see it in your eyes
'Cause they never tell me lies
I can feel that body shake
And the heat between your legs

ie the heat between legs. Horrible lyric! I'm sure I am getting prudish in my old age. However, I think of a recent thread (fanjo mist) and still chuckle at same time. But it just makes me think of sweaty non cotton knickers on plastic seats. I'm sure it's meant to be a sexy lyric.
It's not working for me.

I like the song but you're right, that is really cringe worthy. Make me think cystitis.

teacher54321 · 08/04/2017 13:26

You're not the only one-I hate the lyrics to that song!

LilacSpatula · 08/04/2017 13:28

In the summertime makes me cringe:

If her daddy's rich take her out for a meal
If her daddy's poor just do what you feel

Nice!!

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 08/04/2017 13:30

Lilac, basically, "If he's rich dont rape her. If he isnt, go for it."

DJBaggySmalls · 08/04/2017 13:33

One of those lines is not like the others

I don't think anything's worse than Sugar Walls.

SapphireStrange · 08/04/2017 13:47

Who are The Weeknd? [elderly]

Anyway, yes, it's horrid. I sort of imagine the heat smelling. Confused

Pollyanna9 · 08/04/2017 13:53

I HATE that song - not sure what the proper title is but it's something along the lines of That Girl Is a Real Crowd Pleaser and there's a line in there:
Rockin John Lennon lenses
Like to see 'em spread eagled [YUCK]
and other gems such as:

Took a bitch to the club
and let her party on the table.

Christ almighty. You know, in the 80s songs were about love. I love you, I want to make love to you, I can't live without you - now's it's ho's and poles - God alone knows where feminism went.

The Weekend is a one single chap, not a group!! Don't know why he calls himself a plural name!

Pollyanna9 · 08/04/2017 13:54

Sorry I meant to say yes I'm not that keen on the The Weekend song lyric either but that I hate the example I gave even more.

deloresclaiborne · 08/04/2017 13:56

isnt it the music in fifty shades of grey 2

Bleurghghghgh · 08/04/2017 13:58

I've masturbated whilst listening to the weeknds first album. A few times Blush

Grilledaubergines · 08/04/2017 13:59

Lilac, basically, "If he's rich dont rape her. If he isnt, go for it.

Really? You think that's the meaning of that line? What a very skewed view of men.

PoorYorick · 08/04/2017 14:00

Well, Bleurghghghgh, I guess we know where your username came from!

PoorYorick · 08/04/2017 14:01

I always took that In the Summertime line to mean that if she's rich, try to impress her and if she's not, you don't have to work so hard at it. Still vile, but not actually a call to rape impoverished women.

Glossolalia · 08/04/2017 14:01

Bleurgh your username is quite apt. Shock

TomaytoTomahto · 08/04/2017 14:07

Sugar Walls is Sheena Easton!?!!! I just had to google. It's raining tonight?!!! Jeez. Spend the night in my sugar walls??! If she has that much sugar she needs to stock up on the Canesten.
Babybarrister, I did get it right but only because I googled

Shock I've never heard of The Weeknd either! (Bloody stupid name though).

I thought that song was by Daft Punk! Google informs me it is feat. Daft Punk.

JonSnowsWhore · 08/04/2017 14:18

I thought that song 'sweat' was a bit rapey

Girl I wanna make you sweat
Sweat til you can't sweat no more
And if you cry, I'm gonna push it some more'

Was always a bit Shock but have since found out it's 'and if you cry out, I'm gonna push it some more'

So I suppose it's not as bad as I first thought 🙈

Funnyface1 · 08/04/2017 14:20

I really like that song but also go a bit deaf during that bit. Just seems so unnecessary.

PoorYorick · 08/04/2017 14:26

Now I've got that stupid a-la-la-la-la-long riff stuck in my head...cheers!

JonSnowsWhore · 08/04/2017 14:27

Haha me too, want to listen to it now but my laptop is broken, music never sounds as good on a phone!

Bloomed · 08/04/2017 14:29

Wow. Today's discovery is Sugar Walls Shock

CakesAreBiscuitsToo · 08/04/2017 14:30

I hate it too, OP

It's like a homage to a radiant fanjo.
