AIBU to cringe whenever I hear this lyric? (by The Weeknd)

This one (I Feel It Coming)

Tell me what you really like
Baby, I can take my time
We don't ever have to fight
Just take it step-by-step
I can see it in your eyes
'Cause they never tell me lies
I can feel that body shake
And the heat between your legs

ie the heat between legs. Horrible lyric! I'm sure I am getting prudish in my old age. However, I think of a recent thread (fanjo mist) and still chuckle at same time. But it just makes me think of sweaty non cotton knickers on plastic seats. I'm sure it's meant to be a sexy lyric.
It's not working for me.

....what's a Weeknd?

I agree about the lyrics of 'In the Summertime'. They're creepy as.

ddssdd · 08/04/2017 14:37

Shit lyrics, catchy tune.

fairgame84 · 08/04/2017 14:46

I also hate that line by the Weeknd.
Has anybody listened to Easy by the Sugababes? The lyrics are pure filth.

TheMysteriousJackelope · 08/04/2017 14:46

Led Zeppelin has some dodgy lyrics. The plant chemist was giving us a karaoke version of 'Whole Lotta Love' at a weekend retreat and the plant manager went up and switched the sound system off about 45 seconds in.

'Black Dog' is a bit off too.

Pollyanna9 · 08/04/2017 14:50

What about Grace Jones':

Pull up to the bumper baby
In your long black limousine
Pull up to the bumper baby
Drive it inbetweeeeen

Lol!

Wonder what that means....? Confused

Pollyanna9 · 08/04/2017 14:51

Yes Themysterious - "I wanna be your back door man"!!!!! (That was them wasn't it?).

watchoutformybutt · 08/04/2017 14:56

Yeah it's creepy. I quite like the song but that ruins it.

CalonGoch · 08/04/2017 14:57

And also the unforgettable 'Squeeze my lemon till the juice runs down my leg.' Not something Mary Berry would do.

SapphireStrange · 08/04/2017 15:07

Polly, a couple of the 6Music DJs have a shtick when they play that song of saying, deadpan, 'That's the only song I know of about parallel parking.' Grin

RubbishMantra · 08/04/2017 15:16

How can you dislike , TheMysteriousJackelope? In my 20s I spent many an hour dancing my head off to that. It doesn't even really have any vocals. Confused

Bleurghghghgh · 08/04/2017 15:17

BlushBlushBlush

TwattyMcTwatface · 08/04/2017 15:21

Jon I thought that song was about working out together at the gym Blush I need to start paying more attention when I'm trying to sing along Grin

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 08/04/2017 15:25

I turn it off when it comes on the radio ... it gives me the creeps and a song hasn't given me the creeps so much since Mama by Genesis. I also always turn over John Legend. Just because .

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 08/04/2017 15:26

Anyone else cringe at Ed Sheeran Shape of You? Or is it just meBlush

Greyhound81 · 08/04/2017 15:27

I hate the line in Mis-teeqs 'Scandalous'

'You got me trembling like a little baby girl'

WTAF?

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 08/04/2017 15:29

I do TripTrap and that was on a previous thread about filthy lyrics!

We can relive why Cake By The Ocean is filthy today if you like!

But it's the high pitched whining of The Weeknd that gets me....and it's not even euphemistic..

JonSnowsWhore · 08/04/2017 15:30

No triptrap, you can't be coming on here saying bad things about Ed, he is the little ginger music god Grin

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 08/04/2017 15:30

I can't decide whether The Weeknd is trying to be a feminist , or not....

Like a sort of antidote to Blurred Lines...

Doesn't work..

muttrat · 08/04/2017 15:31

rubbishmantra do you mean black dog the bloke?

Jack elope means the song black dog by the zep.

I loved black dog the bloke

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 08/04/2017 15:32

Noooo, it's vile, possibly even more so because he sings it and that seems wrong!!

I was ok with it until I actually listened to the words. I was a little shocked!

RubbishMantra · 08/04/2017 15:33

Have you seen , TripTrap?

Agerbilatemycardigan · 08/04/2017 15:35

Didn't Prince write Sugar Walls?

SignoraStronza · 08/04/2017 15:36

Not particularly filthy, but anyone heard the new 'Mike & the Mechanics' single 'Don't know what came over me'.
Reads like MN's the script bingo. Every clichéd, self absorbed word to come out of the mouth of a cheating bastard right there in one song.

ILikeBeansWithKetchup · 08/04/2017 15:40

Goodness how OLD is/are Mike and The Mechanics? !08? misses point entirely

RubbishMantra · 08/04/2017 15:41

Ah, got my songs and bands mixed up muttrat. Poor brain suffering from too much hedonism in the 80/90s.
