Mother's Day gift how is it possible to still get it wrong after 9 year ?!

Hi folks second time I've posted on here so I know I'm in for it ! Fiancé bought me this beauty for Mother's Day. I don't care it cost £8 and I don't care it's a Day late and from Asda I truly don't. I care that it's a nightie. We have been together 9 year. I don't wear nighties. He bought me one last year for balentine last year I made nice noises but made excuse after excuse not to wear it. This year I said while I appreciated the effort and that the pattern was pretty I still don't wear nighties ! He's currently throwing a wobbly saying I'm ungrateful 😕. AIBU ? For all those that get nothing I'm usually in your group and so i do feel honoured I got something this year but I'm never gonna wear or use it and I tried to be nice but he won't take the hint ! Should I suck it up apologise and wear the bloody thing or not ?!

Hahahaha thank you amberlily I knew it ! I'm the mother of his children. 2 very young girls. How am I supposed to get anything from them unless I buy it myself ?! I bought his mother's and my own and they both got gifts they like.

If you don't want to wear a nightie don't wear one. I hate this kind of gift, more about the givers gratification than the recipient

Are you his mum? Its mothers day... So you join the rest of us and get a hand made card from dc, made at school or nursey/childminder...or wait till you do. Ds is 8 and this is probably the third card Ive received. Why would his father by me something?! I'm not his mother. Weird.

It's not weird for a man to take his child to buy a card and/or gift for Mother's Day! Both my ex and my husband do and have done this for as long as I have been mother to their children.

If he wants her to wear a nightie for a shag so badly he can bring it up separately to Mother's Day like a normal human being (or get over himself since it's been 9 years and OP clearly isn't game).

And yes, it is a bit odd for a partner to buy you anything for Mothers' Day IMO.

I'd take it back, get a refund and buy a box of chocolates instead. Which I would eat all by myself Grin

Not everyone is good at thinking of presents.

Present buying is a skill, it's not a sign of love.

Why not agree that for your next birthday/anniversary/Christmas etc you'll give him a few suggestions and he can pick something from the list?

Too many of my friends see these kind of occasions as a kind of extended test for their OHs and I hate it.
