To think obesity rates will rocket with brexit

Currently 2/3rd of adults are overweight or obese. But in my life the immigrants I meet are often a healthy weight. Now many are moving back and they won't be replaced could we see rates go up massively? My friend that works up north in a gym thinks 90% are overweight in the local area.

CanIGoToBedNow · 24/03/2017 15:27

Stupidity rates seem to have gone up with Brexit

SparkleTwinkleGoldGlitter · 24/03/2017 15:28

Hmm Confused
So brexit is happening and when all the immigrants leave/get sent home the uk will be fatter as we won't have slim immigrants to keep the obesity figures low? Is that correct?

No sodding idea what you are talking about, have you been at the gin love?

Actually obesity rates are increasing across Europe mainly because people don't recognise what it looks like any more. Overweight and Obese people often don't look big or overweight, women might wear a 12 or 14, men can wear a 33/34 waist size and still be technically obese. So chances are a high proportion of the 'slim' people you meet are obese.

Factorysettings · 24/03/2017 15:35

I'll have to tell my slightly over-weight, immigrant dh who lives up-North but who will remain in this country following Brexit that he is letting the side down.

YogaAndRum · 24/03/2017 15:35

rigggggggggght

watchoutformybutt · 24/03/2017 15:35

Frazzled2207 · 24/03/2017 15:36
Hmm
TizzyDongue · 24/03/2017 15:37

No SparkleTwinkleGoldGlitter I think the immigrants going to get fat after Brexit or something? It's EU law that all immigrants are thin, so once out the EU they'll all be down the local chippy; taking your chips. All of them.

cheesyinkent · 24/03/2017 15:51

Oh please it's not that far fetched! The hard working often in manual jobs Eastern Europeans are much slimmer. Without them the average will go up.

I was expecting this to be that other OP with the "nothing of consequence happened" post, what's her name.

Valentine2 · 24/03/2017 15:53

If your theory is right OP, at least Europe will be safe from an onslaught of obesity from Uk.
Grin
What a weird EU ref thread.

akkakk · 24/03/2017 15:54

The hard working often in manual jobs Eastern Europeans
So presumably if these manual job Eastern Europeans all go home, brits will have to do the manual jobs and will therefore get fitter...

YABU - Brexit will therefore make us on average healthier and less obese Grin

Reow · 24/03/2017 15:54

@TizzyDongue they'll all be down the local chippy; taking your chips. All of them.

ChocolateButton15 · 24/03/2017 15:55

Oh yeah because it's only the eastern Europeans that are hard working and do manual work, everyone else is lazy and overweight and it will all come out because of Brexit. Or not. Hmm Weird thread!

LadyPW · 24/03/2017 15:56

I thought that the price of food was supposed to rocket up and the sizes of items shrink - on that thinking everyone should be underweight? Grin

Try again.....

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 24/03/2017 15:57

there are loads of chubby immigrants round my way, seriously! we are all fat fuckers together Grin

cheesyinkent · 24/03/2017 15:57

Well no as many of these jobs will disappear due to brexit.

Even if doughnuts cost 50% more a bag, 75p not 50p for 5 they are still very affordable.
