Last night, having a meal at 7 in a nice pub and a parent got their child to use the potty by their table. This isn't normal, is it?!

You know the answer....of course it isn't. Yuck!

pillowcase6 · 12/03/2017 08:39

Gross. Up there with changing a pooey nappy in your booth at a restaurant.

elodie2000 · 12/03/2017 08:40

No it's not. It's disgusting. A friend of mine did this once. I was Hmm.

Writerwannabe83 · 12/03/2017 08:42

That's pretty grim.

My DS was potty trained a few weeks ago and I take the potty with us if we go to the park for example but I wouldn't take it if we were going somewhere that had toilets as obviously he'd use though instead.

I was once in a hospital and saw a young child using their potty in the middle of the corridor in full view of everyone - I thought it was very odd Grin

dudsville · 12/03/2017 08:42

I think your answer lies in your own feelings about the matter.

TheUpsideDown · 12/03/2017 08:43

Errrm, not really. Eurgh!

Absolutely foul, I never had to do this. Why not take the potty to the toilet and put the child there, they are learning to use the toilet, so parents should do that. They have to learn they can't do their business anywhere they want. That is not teaching them!

Aeroflotgirl · 12/03/2017 08:45

I would have told staff, as its unhygeinic.

Todayistuesday · 12/03/2017 08:48

I couldn't imagine doing it myself. They were with friends as well, how embarrassing would it be to be part of a group and someone did that!

OP posts:
KoalaDownUnder · 12/03/2017 08:50

Yeah, I would have complained to staff.

Just repulsive.

age81 · 12/03/2017 08:52

Yikes, did they at least go and wash their hands?

SimonSmithsAmazingDancingBear · 12/03/2017 08:53

So did you tell the staff?

Or just come on here to check if it was within normal social/hygiene parameters?

hickorydickorynurseryrhyme · 12/03/2017 08:56

No. It's normal to take your child and potty to the toilet and do it there!

SarcasmMode · 12/03/2017 08:56

Nope, just yuck.

Take the potty into the ladies and use it there.

WhooooAmI24601 · 12/03/2017 08:58

We were in John Lewis a while ago and a mother at the next table sat in the cafe, got out a potty and let her child take a poop right there next to my latte. I'm sure there's a reasonable excuse, I just can't find it.

drspouse · 12/03/2017 08:59

Why bother doing this since you have to take the potty to the toilet to empty it anyway?

TinfoilHattie · 12/03/2017 09:02

Horrific. I would have given the parent my best deathstare in a "cannot believe you just did that" way.

wifeyhun · 12/03/2017 09:04

Just vulgar, they should have been thrown out.

pillowcase6 · 12/03/2017 09:07

What did they do with the full potty?

GirlElephant · 12/03/2017 09:09

That's disgusting!

BlinkyT · 12/03/2017 09:09

Photo or it didn't happen Wink

Was this in the U.K.?

miserableandinpain · 12/03/2017 09:15

Yanbu. However. We take a potty with us. Inside 2 or 3 bags so its not off putting. If he needs the loo then i take him to the loo to use it. (He is scared to use the toilet bowl as it is too big, so we have a booster seat to put on top) How did they flush it out if they were at the table?

Raisinbrain · 12/03/2017 09:16

YANBU Shock

Astoria7974 · 12/03/2017 09:16

The couple weren't Chinese tourists were they? I've seen one pull a potty out on the tube!
