AIBU to push this car off my drive..?

Never posted here before but me and DH are having a discussion about what to do.

We have a driveway next to our house, our car is parked on our driveway. Our neighbours always have lots of cars around their house (2 on drive way, one in front on their house, one in front of our house). Today someone has parked their car in front of my drive, totally blocking in my car.

Have knocked on both neighbours - one didn't know whose it was. The other (the one with all the cars) wasn't in.

DH went out to put a note on the car and found the door was ajar. He's now talking about putting it in gear and pushing it down the road. I have a feeling this might be slightly illegal!

We go in holiday tomorrow at 930am and therefore need the car.

Thoughts?!!!

Def move it!! If you are away they can't complain can they??
And if it shouldn't have been there they won't call the police.

But really no diagram is also a mn crime. .

NapQueen · 05/03/2017 21:23

Well its illegal to block someone onto your drive. Could you call 101 and ask for advice? As the car is accessible mention it to them and ask whether its appropriate to move it forward?

Mehfruittea · 05/03/2017 21:23

Push it off your drive no hide it round the corner! Grin

Seriously - I would move it, then reverse your car out so it can't be blocked in. You need to be leaving for the airport very early and if they try to block you in again you could be buggered.

Mehfruittea · 05/03/2017 21:24

*and hide it round the corner. Damn auto type

RandomMess · 05/03/2017 21:24

Of course just move it!!! You're not going to damage it, you need to get your car out why on earth wouldn't you?

44PumpLane · 05/03/2017 21:24

Move it!

You're not stealing it and they are blocking you in. If you're "caught" just tell them what you're doing and why- if they hadn't been such a twunt by parking in front of your drive you'd not have needed to move them!!

Sweets101 · 05/03/2017 21:25

It's not illegal to move it off your private property, but as it's on the road i'm not sure. You'd be in trouble if it ended up damaged of course. Call 101 and ask

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 05/03/2017 21:25

oh roll it off the drive for sure....and leave it in the middle of the road.

wear rubber gloves so the filth don't get your dabs

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 05/03/2017 21:25

Definitely move it.
Otherwise it might still be there in the morning but locked!

ShowMeWhatYouGot · 05/03/2017 21:26

Ring police? Tell them your worried for the "safety of this car?

Or just roll it into the road obstructing something & let them get towed Blush

AgentBlue · 05/03/2017 21:29

Do it
Do it
Do it
Do it
Do it
Do it

ScarletForYa · 05/03/2017 21:29

Hell yeah. Move it, I wouldn't think twice.

SheRaaarghPrincessOfPower · 05/03/2017 21:30

Nocabbageinmyeye · 05/03/2017 21:30

I don't think it's on our private property. It's sort of half up on the pavement at the end of my drive.

Have attached diagram!!

Note only one of these cars is mine. 99% certain all the other cars belong to the neighbour or friends of the neighbour.

I'd call 101 so they can check it hasn't been stolen and abandoned. if it is, they'll come and get it for you

Astro55 · 05/03/2017 21:32

Do you live on a hill?

emmabrown123 · 05/03/2017 21:33

No, its flat. Did wonder about taking the handbrake off but it probably wouldn't roll anywhere!!

JaniceBattersby · 05/03/2017 21:34

Absolutely 100 per cent move it. Even if it's just a few metres so you can get your car off the drive.

Valentine2 · 05/03/2017 21:35

Parking thread!!!

GlitteryFluff · 05/03/2017 21:35

Oh I do love a parking thread, especially one with a diagram.
If you've got the guts to move it I would.
If you've got even more guts I'd hide it round the corner as suggested Grin
