To ask about trolls

NOT a TAAT - just inspired by a certain one

Tell us about your fave MN troll

I liked the woman who had a dead husband who hand painted the childrens bedrooms, and now she was remarried she wanted all of her stepchildren to sleep in one room so that her children from her first marriage wouldn't have to give up their bedrooms even for one night!

Surely IANBU to ask what your favorite troll on MN has been?!

OP posts:
BakeOffBiscuits · 19/02/2017 15:18

When I joined there was a person called PixieOnALeaf or somesuch- she posted about her amazing life in her mansion with her 6 children, which included twins of course and there were always dramas occurring, usually medical.
I was very naive andbelieved every single word. One day all her posts dissapeared for some reason Hmm

Stranded and her 'story' sound very familiar. Did she give birth in her Uni Halls, baby was delivered by her newish and very 'shocked' boyfriend who wasn't the biological father but stepped up? Did she post numerous photos of her in 'clubbing' gear as 'proof' of no bump? If so then she's a prolific troll, who posted on Babycentre WYOO for ages, despite slipping up on several occasions, some posters believed her and she is still referred to on 'I didn't know I was pregnant' threads.

In fact, her 'story' is still there if you search the journals for it.

UnbornMortificado · 19/02/2017 15:49

Does anyone know why it always twins?

Always puzzled me.

Maudlinmaud · 19/02/2017 15:52

Maybe it's always the same poster and they are oddly fascinated with twins or have had some sort of trauma around twins.

KurriKurri · 19/02/2017 15:55

I think it's the tendency of trolls to over embellish for attention. So one baby not dramatic enough, it has to be twins or quads or an alien Grin

UnbornMortificado · 19/02/2017 16:11

I was slightly worried fucking terrified about having twins with this being my fifth pregnancy.

I knew I'd need scan pictures, a doctors letter and the birth certificates to prove my none trolliness.

ProudBadMum · 19/02/2017 16:12

And blood samples Grin

NerrSnerr · 19/02/2017 16:20

I remember one from a few months ago who already had twins and then said she was heavily pregnant with triplets- unfortunately she got it wrong in the OP and said she was already further gone than most triplet pregnancies go for so it was obvious. Before it got deleted the thread was full of responses like 'wow- this is almost unbelievable!'

treaclesoda · 19/02/2017 16:31

Ifart I'm not sure about university halls, can't remember if she said that or not, but yes to the new boyfriend stepping up to the plate and the photos of clubbing in skimpy outfits as proof of not knowing she was pregnant. I think someone outed her by pointing out that it would be very strange indeed to have a Facebook feed including pregnancy announcements and scan photos if you didn't know you were pregnant Wink

UnbornMortificado · 19/02/2017 16:42

And blood samples

Grin

I've been on a triplet one recently, it was originally on baby names but I guessing genuine as the OP came back on with some (gorgeous) photos.

LittleStripyBee · 19/02/2017 17:11

jamdonuts that wasn't stranded on the night bus, that was a genuine poster who has now NC'd.

The shoe troll is the one I always saw, I've missed them as I've had aibu hidden for a year or so until this last week as I was getting cross at trolls then I realised mn is a lot more fun rolling your eyes at idiots

Christinedaae17 · 19/02/2017 17:27

Nursery woman was a troll? Shock

I read the first thread and half the second must have missed the part where she found out she was pregnant totally shocked about that!

VintagePerfumista · 19/02/2017 19:16

IFartGlitter- yes, I believe Stranded was also on BC.

The woman I know IRL who has her on her FB says she met her because she read her tale on BC (though they were also studying the same subject at uni) and contacted her for research purposes. The giving-birth-without-knowing-she-was-pg thing.

OnHold · 19/02/2017 19:20

I never thought Stranded was a troll.

She did get a hard time on here though.

MarciaBlaine · 19/02/2017 19:24

I remember Sassy Susan being outed as WashWithCare, who was evil about breastfeeding and other such stuff. Then SS did really lose a child and was still horrible to other posters and MNHQ.

I reckon SS still starts threads on here.
The famous cup of milk in the cafe thread was rumoured to be her.

I thought StrandedBear was banned for sock puppeting rather than full on trolling. Unfortunately, she gave sock puppet a very similar name (something like AbandonedOtter). Thinking on it, she may just have been banned for her spectacular lack of imagination.

paxillin · 19/02/2017 19:46

Twins are common enough, but if I had triplets I think I'd post scans and birth certificates to HQ before posting.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 19/02/2017 19:50

Stranded bear was a troll, her fb page had pregnancy announcements and scan pics, while her story on here was that she didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labour

Whatslovegottodo · 19/02/2017 20:00

Does anyone remember the PirateParty thread where the other mum turned up halfway through? I wondered if that was sock puppets? My memory is blurred on that one!

I am fairly gullible it would appear and was totally taken in with a Oliver's army and the boy with the sweatshirt. Relieved they weren't real though astonished people could make that all up.

treaclesoda · 19/02/2017 20:19

Whats I remember that! The one where the poster said that another mum has turned up at her soft play party and announced to everyone that it was a joint party, but expected OP to pay for it.

And then 500 posts later, another poster turned up claiming to actually be the other mum and saying that the OP had offered to host, or something like that.

It was epic, and not at all suspicious Grin
