To ask about trolls

NOT a TAAT - just inspired by a certain one

Tell us about your fave MN troll

I liked the woman who had a dead husband who hand painted the childrens bedrooms, and now she was remarried she wanted all of her stepchildren to sleep in one room so that her children from her first marriage wouldn't have to give up their bedrooms even for one night!

Surely IANBU to ask what your favorite troll on MN has been?!

There was an absolute doozy this morning- someone asking about having another baby despite having an extensive criminal record, addiction issues, no money, etc. It made a lot of people angry before it was taken down.

It does seem that these are an unusual number of troll threads at the moment. I reported three before 9am, which must be some sort of record!

GinIsIn · 19/02/2017 07:00

That reminds me of the bizarre birth troll who pops up every now and again over on Pregnancy or Childbirth saying they are pregnant and don't like mess so will be under a general anaesthetic for the entire of labour and are expecting the baby to be washed and dressed before they even look at it, and won't be touching the baby at any point in its existence if she suspects it's harbouring germs.... the poster has quite a deranged and American posting style and the threads are always the same. Hmm

Hatemylifenow · 19/02/2017 07:30

Ooohhh I know the one you're referring to fenella, didn't realise it was a troll!

treaclesoda · 19/02/2017 07:47

It's the really mundane troll stuff that baffles me. Like the one the other day where the poster was planning a menu for 50 people, and twelve hours later the event was apparently over and everyone loved her food. Or the one whose boss demanded to see the invoice for repairs carried out on her car, so she got Kwik Fit to fake the invoice with her details when actually it was her friend's car being repaired. Why would anyone make up such a ridiculous but mundane story?

Emmageddon · 19/02/2017 08:23

I often get the sense some (not all) pubic hair removal ones are a bit odd

I think some of the puberty botherers are men, seeking wank fodder and possibly hoping for photos Grin

Emmageddon · 19/02/2017 08:24

Pube botherers not puberty.

(That's a whole new level of nasty)

RedBullBlood · 19/02/2017 08:27

There was a foreskin troll (don't ask) last year, I think that plumbed new depths...
But yes to a pp, the really dull ones are particularly odd. The coat troll, the model/caterer/social worker one. Loads of detail, and for what?

Emmageddon · 19/02/2017 08:55

Perhaps writing a very dull novel?

Some of the anguished, overly dramatic, relationship ones sound like not-very-well written chicklit, especially when an amazingly good looking man is introduced into the mix.

MojitoMollie · 19/02/2017 09:33

That woman had shit taste in imaginary friends.

WayfaringStranger · 19/02/2017 10:26

My inheritance thread was not fucking fake. I'm thought we weren't meant to drag things from other threads around the boards. Hmm

JamDonutsRule · 19/02/2017 10:48

Was the troll Stranded the poster about 6 months or maybe a year ago who was homeless and riding night buses around for the night because she didn't have enough money for a hostel, then some MNers sent her money? Or was that a genuine poster?

KayTee87 · 19/02/2017 10:58

It's not my best (because it was sad) but the one that affected me the most was the one with the little boy who was found in school on the climbing frame with his jumper around his neck.

I didn't know this was a troll Sad I remember this thread and being so upset for her. Who the hell would make something like that up.,

TheSpottedZebra · 19/02/2017 11:26

What is Curry troll?
Sounds fascinating!

treaclesoda · 19/02/2017 12:07

Jam Stranded was a long term poster who, if I remember correctly, started with a bug controversy about choosing a user name that was very similar to an existing poster. Then claimed that she had a surprise baby, delivered by her boyfriend (not the baby's father) in her bedroom, but he was aces because he didn't mind at all. Then started an almighty hoo ha by saying that they were a very naked family and that they didn't mind a bit of naked spooning under a blanket on the sofa on a dull afternoon, which sometimes turned into naked spoony sex, and the toddler just played with her toys on the floor whilst this was happening and was totally oblivious. That was a corker thread, I remember it fondly.

I think all that was Stranded. Apologies if I've mixed her up with someone else.

treaclesoda · 19/02/2017 12:07

That should say a big controversy, not a bug.

PageStillNotFound404 · 19/02/2017 13:13

Oh, I'd forgotten the Silent Spoony Sofa Sex thread! That was a doozy.

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 19/02/2017 13:48

I still believe in fairies stranded yeah I was totally drawn in. 🙄

ProudBadMum · 19/02/2017 14:31

I hated stranded.. I joined as she left and I kept getting accused of being her. I didn't even know who she was Grin

QuercusQuercus · 19/02/2017 14:32

I thought a recent pube thread was definitely a troll until I saw it was posted by a long-term member with impeccable posting history

Sometimes real life just looks very trolly.

BillSykesDog · 19/02/2017 14:48

The 'very successful business' Anna from Frozen troll was PavlovaPippa. I loved her.

MsHooliesCardigan · 19/02/2017 14:53

Naze I was the OP of the wanking monkeys thread. It was true but I honestly didn't think anyone would take it seriously. And it ended up in The fucking Sun.
I wish PavlovaPippa would take some time out from her very successful business and come back. She was awesome.

HCantThinkOfAUsername · 19/02/2017 14:56

PaclovaPippa kept me entertained Grin

Maudlinmaud · 19/02/2017 14:59

I think I spotted the disney princess one a few days ago.

MadHattersWineParty · 19/02/2017 15:01

I'm having a lovely afternoon curled up with a pot of tea and reading about Pippa and her six 'jobs' Grin

V. Entertaining.

GinIsIn · 19/02/2017 15:06

PavlovaPippa!!! That was it! I was trying so hard to remember her name yesterday. I got as far as PollyParties but couldn't remember it for the life of me!
