A mission can be a success even though it costs lives IF the overall objective is achieved. The Dambusters raid cost 76 lives but has been deemed to be a success - even though its measure of what was achieved has altered since then.

However - to not even allow, in fact to silence someone who dares question because it disrespects the memory is a low blow.

He could have said 'Yes, I believe it was a success. We gained a lot of valuable intelligence which we hope will save lives. Sadly it came at a high cost with loss US personnel and civillian lives but we believe the intelligence gained is worth the cost the sad loss of life'

It's almost becoming redundant, posting for each of Trump's recommendations that have murky pasts - as they ALL do.

They're probably aiming for the dodgiest administration in history.

Across I couldn't agree more about the winning thing. DS2 is 8 and simply cannot bear not winning- even losing a game of Ker Plunk would result in a total meltdown and him throwing the marbles round the room until a few months ago when it seemed to start getting a bit better. In his case, it didn't seem to be about being fiercely competitive or a perfectionist but was more about being insecure which I suspect is the case with DT.
I remember his ghost writer commenting that DT is obsessed with 'ranking' everything and about whatever is 'the best' of 'first'. It's a very childish trait when you think about it.
