Aw thanks Chuff. You haven't been around here long, have you? Anyway, not sure why you're bothering to stay on this "page". Haven't you other "pages" to haunt?

But of course, if you have something to say other than spit, swear and blubber, please go ahead.

TheClaws · 07/02/2017 07:23

And equally, given I'm a nobody Chuff, so are you. Wink

EmilyAlice · 07/02/2017 07:26

I thought the tradition these days is that a Tory Speaker should normally be followed by a Labour one?

EmilyAlice · 07/02/2017 07:33

Whoops think that should have been on the other thread!

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 07:43

Re army 101, as Trump was a draft dodger, I suspect he's not particularly well versed in the army training. HTH.

originalbiglymavis · 07/02/2017 07:46

Planet still here? Oh good - we're one up today then.

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 07:54

He's released the list of "terrorist incidents" that he feels didn't get enough attention. It's not been received well by media.

RufusTheSpartacusReindeer · 07/02/2017 07:55

Oh good i got here just in time to see chuffs erudite posts

i dont know why 'leftie' is an insult but i am more a righty....or a middly to be fair

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 07:57

From what I can gather, some isn't terrorist related, lots of misspelled words and places, and what was terrorist activity was front page news when it happened. Notably, the recent Canadian attack was not on the list and clearly still being ignored by Trump.

klassy · 07/02/2017 07:57

Can you post a link Ginger?

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 08:03

On my phone at the moment so can't. Plus dealing with dcs. Multitasking not my talent this morning. Lol

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 08:07

Oh wait. Here's a link from huffington post

These are the attacks Trump says went underreported. You'll recognize a few. huff.to/2jWyG8U

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 08:08

Hmm. It's not showing as link. Because I'm on phone??

shovetheholly · 07/02/2017 08:10

Just swinging by to say anyone on Twitter who likes history NEEDS to follow @Donaeld The Unready. Absolutely hilarious!

TheClaws · 07/02/2017 08:14

At least one of the Australian ones cited on the list was a murder case not related to terrorism at all.

TheClaws · 07/02/2017 08:17

So if that's one's zapped, how many more are not what he says they are?

Alternative facts

Lweji · 07/02/2017 08:21

The list (see link) includes many actual cases that Donnie missed while watching Free Willy and in many different countries, but NOT Israel for some reason.

Also, follow the bad speller and find the source.

saffronwblue · 07/02/2017 08:21

A tweeter called judd legum says that Melania is suing daily mail for implying she was an escort because it may tarnish her once in a lifetime opportunity to make money through launching retail brands as First Lady. Anyone else heard about this?

Lweji · 07/02/2017 08:25

Almost as good as this thread is the Guardian's Trump Watch.

Week 3. What will this week bring? Trump thread
GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 08:25

Yes saffron. The last case was dismissed by the court I think for jurisdictional issues or something? So she recently refiled.

GingerIvy · 07/02/2017 08:27

Yes, the list has the word "attaker" I believe. I kind of expect paperwork from the WH to at least spell better than a third grader. 🙄

Lweji · 07/02/2017 08:28

BTW I think we should pay attention to Melania's coded messages.
Did you see her sleeves that weren't really sleeves when she met her hubbie (my autocorrect prefers hubble, good boy)?
I think it was code for "alternative facts". I'll be looking out for "help".

merrymouse · 07/02/2017 08:37

Melania according to the filing “had the unique, one-in-a-lifetime opportunity, as an extremely famous and well-known person, as well as a former professional model, brand spokesperson and successful businesswoman, to launch a broad-based commercial brand in multiple product categories, each of which could have garnered multi-million dollar business relationships for a multi-year term during which Plaintiff is one of the most photographed women in the world.”

I'm confused. Isn't that a bit unconstitutional? Also which is more damaging, being a accused of being an escort or actually stating that you want to use the presidency to sell stuff?

amispartacus · 07/02/2017 08:42

One thing I find interesting is what the main news bulletins aren't reporting - I know you can't report everything but leaving stuff out when you report does influence decisions and thought processes.

The Today programme made no mention of his speech yesterday and the comments he made:

2 things stuck out:

It sounded like the US and its allies were going to really take on ISIS. That's big news

Second - his comments on terrorist attacks on Europe.

People who aren't aware of these comments and the other stuff he's said are probably more than happy to say 'yes, Trump's fine, what's the issue'

Of course, people who are more informed are happy to say this.

This comes back to opinion polls and getting the 'right question'.

  1. President Trump has said there are terrorist attacks happening in Europe that are under reported. Do you feel safe going to Europe?

  2. In the 2 weeks President Trump has been in charge, the Dow Jones has soared past 20,000. Do you agree that Trump has been good for the economy?

  3. There was a terrorist attack in Paris last week committed by a Muslim. Do you agree with President Trump's actions to vet people coming from only these 7 countries?

  4. How good a job is President Trump doing in his first 2 weeks?

You'll notice the use of the word Presidert, agree, good, Muslim, soared and safety....All nudge words

I could get him a good poll rating.

If CNN want a negative rating, other questions are available Grin
