One thing I find interesting is what the main news bulletins aren't reporting - I know you can't report everything but leaving stuff out when you report does influence decisions and thought processes.
The Today programme made no mention of his speech yesterday and the comments he made:
2 things stuck out:
It sounded like the US and its allies were going to really take on ISIS. That's big news
Second - his comments on terrorist attacks on Europe.
People who aren't aware of these comments and the other stuff he's said are probably more than happy to say 'yes, Trump's fine, what's the issue'
Of course, people who are more informed are happy to say this.
This comes back to opinion polls and getting the 'right question'.
-
President Trump has said there are terrorist attacks happening in Europe that are under reported. Do you feel safe going to Europe?
-
In the 2 weeks President Trump has been in charge, the Dow Jones has soared past 20,000. Do you agree that Trump has been good for the economy?
-
There was a terrorist attack in Paris last week committed by a Muslim. Do you agree with President Trump's actions to vet people coming from only these 7 countries?
-
How good a job is President Trump doing in his first 2 weeks?
You'll notice the use of the word Presidert, agree, good, Muslim, soared and safety....All nudge words
I could get him a good poll rating.
If CNN want a negative rating, other questions are available
