I don't think she can. She'll be desperate to get a trade deal. We could not be leaving the EU at a worse time - just when we need the protection, backing and weight of other member states.

I know a number of people IRL who have said that May is doing the right thing - i.e. put up and shut up until you get a trade deal in place. What they are missing is the fact that DT is so bloody unstable and erratic that there's nothing to stop him trying to back out of it, or undermine it, or use it as leverage to get agreement/backing of how utterly wonderful he thinks he is. I hope she's got a strong stomach, because when you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas.

I agree too! I could take a GCSE on current American Politics, I'm working towards an A level with a view to a Degree!

It is quite a good thing for me in that it has made me realise that I'm not as thick as I thought I was (left school at 15. Lived through my kids and their degrees!) because when I talk to others about the current situation, I realise I know so so so much compared to them.
