Well it would a coincidence that would support his agenda. I seriously hope not but right now anything is possible.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 06/02/2017 08:07

My god, he's got the hump with the judge, hasn't he?!

He is like the worst kind of ignorant troll.

Lweji · 06/02/2017 08:08

Would he have gone quiet? I doubt it.

Oh, they'd have had several recounts, plus lawsuits regarding "rigging", plus the GOP majority would be making life hell for any nominees.

illegitimateMortificadospawn · 06/02/2017 08:09

His tweets seem to be almost willing something to happen just so he can say 'told you so'.

I recall that he made similar loaded barbs/thinly veiled threats against Hillary on the campaign trail. At least he is consistent in his skirting incitement to violence...

Roussette · 06/02/2017 08:21

Yes FarAway he has said "blame the judges and courts if anything bad happens"
That's just an open invitation for ISIS to destabilise the US by doing something.

Deadsouls yes agree, it is taking over my life, but I have a few days away coming up so hopefully will be able to reset everything.

This is good. 97 tech based companies - the big ones! - have filed opposition to Trump's ban. We're talking Apple, Airbnb, Microsoft, Twitter et al.

Even Reddit are one of the 97, which I'm delighted about as there's a lot of supporters on there.

woman12345 · 06/02/2017 08:25

Whoops, Rousette got there first!

FarAwayHills · 06/02/2017 08:25

He is trying to portray himself as the good guy hero trying to protect the US from 'bad dudes' and 'so called judges' are just getting in his wayHmm How far will he go with this?

mimishimmi · 06/02/2017 08:26

They fund and arm militia groups like ISIS. They've been doing it for years in South America (funding paramilitaries). OBL used to be on the CIA payroll until at leadt the eighties (and probably later since he was 'found' living 800m from Pakistan's largest military base - conveniently churning out props videos).

They're so wicked Sad

Roussette · 06/02/2017 08:40

Love Forbes Quote of the Day...

"By constant self discipline and self control, you can develop greatness of character".

No hope then.

But I don't want him to calm down, I don't want him to stop tweeting, or kicking out with knee jerk reactions. The more he does, the more likely it will be he goes. I don't think he is capable of dignified silence, or acceptance, or turn the other cheek. We know that. His narcissism and grandiosity will not allow him that.

BiglyBadgers · 06/02/2017 08:44

And in other news, let's not forget the Brexit bill still has some votes coming up this week. Here is a nice little graphic of what's going on in the UK parliament this week. We have to continue to keep an eye on our guys to make sure they don't sneak stuff through while we are all gasping in shock and awe at the Twitler.

bigly mavis Grin

Bigly thanks for posting that, many many parallels in conduct of the appeaser and the twit atm.

Worth phoning and emailing MPs if anyone can bear to, but the resistance in US is doing the same to senators. www.writetothem.com

Roussette · 06/02/2017 08:58

mavis are you related to bigly badgers?! Beautiful name!

originalbiglymavis · 06/02/2017 08:59

The bigly-badgers of Gloucestershire?

BiglyBadgers · 06/02/2017 09:00

I know I am going off topic a bit here, but the BBC has a page where you can put in where you live and see the predicted spending shortfall in the NHS and care service and a summary of the cuts they are planning to deal with it. I thought I was reasonably on the case with this but was shocked at the scale and impact of the cuts where I live.

BiglyB can I post this on another thread?

shovetheholly · 06/02/2017 09:03

Just coming in to say - I went to a protest against Trump on this Saturday! There was a decent turnout of around 1000 people, though not as many as the 3000-4000 in my city who turned out last Monday to protest.

However, the local paper carried a story about it, and the comments to the story are the MOST depressing thing. I suspect many are motivated by racism. In some cases this is explicit ('Oh, look at all the ethnics protesting, GO HOME MUSLIMS' or 'We need Trump here to sort out the immigrants') Angry. In others, it's implicit - from "Aren't there better causes like Help the Aged?" to "GET A JOB!" (The protest was on a Saturday).

It really depressed me. It seems like half of the people in my city are just horrible racists, and those of us who are ready to stand up to fascism are really in a minority. It also made me wonder whether protesting in this way really achieves much - it clearly alienated many of these people (though I suspect the bigotry of anyone who can say 'go home' to a fellow British citizen on the grounds of their skin colour runs deep anyway).

We shall call ourselves the Bigly Brigade and fight injustice and persecution wherever we go.

...So whose going to build us a secret underground HQ...With swirly slide and sassy outfits? Grin

BiglyBadgers · 06/02/2017 09:06

Of course woman I love to share Grin

woman12345 · 06/02/2017 09:08

shovetheholly Kudos to you for going.Flowers British racists have had a blank cheque for years, considering the amount of press and media and paid up comment writers on newspapers shoring up screaming racism, I think it's amazing that so many people are still opposed. The fact that the liberal democrats have won by elections in previously UKIP areas recently like Sunderland, proves that there are a lot, probably more, people who do not agree with the racist policies, here and there.

BiglyBadgers · 06/02/2017 09:11

It also made me wonder whether protesting in this way really achieves much

Do not be down hearted shove though I know it is hard. If there weren't people like the ones leaving comments on that paper you wouldn't need to be out protesting because everything would be super and lovely. It is because of people like that it is so important to stand up and show there is a different view. Remember, for all the people shouting you down there will be others who see your example and feel empowered (I know, horrible word but I can't help it) to speak out against racism.
