It's getting flatter and more dispirited by the minute. No one even cheered in that "we will prosper again!" pause. You can see where the speech writers have scheduled pauses for applause, but he's starting to speed through them because the crowd is so flat.

I remember how uplifted I felt watching Obama's inauguration speech. This is painful. So negative. The crowd seem so apathetic and the crowd shots don't show many people applauding or looking happy.
