Just realised the 'woman' who has had far too much "work" and looks weird in that entourage is Jenner.

Melania was looking really pensive but wonder if she was concentrating on getting down all those stairs without tripping.

I don't know about anyone else... this is all wonderfully staged, and on comes Barack and Michelle and Hillary and al the dignitaries etc.

I just cannot begin to imagine Trump and his speech. His repetition, his nonsense he says that means nothing, his waffling on. It just doesn't go with the ceremony and all of that

Trump looks like a boxer heading into the ring. I'm reminded of a family friend talking about the awful air around Mugabe and the difference from Desmond Tutu when she'd seen them side by side IRL.

I can't watch. The Guardian live blog had a little bit about the handover of the nuclear codes and it made me feel sick. There are at least two American airbases near here... I am trying so hard to put things into perspective but I can't shake off the thought that the last thing I'm going to hear is DS screaming as we all go up in smoke.
