Or peel it first?

OP posts:
MollyHuaCha · 09/01/2017 14:44

Either!

PurpleMcPants · 09/01/2017 14:45

Eat it of course, don't know why you wouldn't?

OohhItsNotHoxton · 09/01/2017 14:45

Eat it.

WaitrosePigeon · 09/01/2017 14:45

Eat it, why wouldn't you?

EvansOvalPies · 09/01/2017 14:46

Eat it, unless it's to be used in a dessert, like poached pears in syrup, or something.

All the goodness is in the skin, like apple skin. You can eat kiwi skin too, although most people peel them.

whattodowiththepoo · 09/01/2017 14:47

I have just always peeled pears, never considered eating a pear like an apple.

I'm a bit allergic to pear skin, it might just be the pesticides and me not washing it properly but if I eat it my mouth goes really tingly and my lips swell up

I eat it anyway, unless this happens to you too can't see why you wouldn't

DailyFail1 · 09/01/2017 14:48

I eat it. Would never peel it unless for a very young child

Evergreen17 · 09/01/2017 14:49

All the fibre that the skin has! Wash and eat. Ahhhh nothing beats a good pearSmile

OohhItsNotHoxton · 09/01/2017 14:49

@EvensOvalPies kiwi skin is edible? Really?

Evergreen17 · 09/01/2017 14:49

No pears at home 😞

MitzyLeFrouf · 09/01/2017 14:50

Eat it of course! The skin is always where all the good stuff is in most fruits.

coffeetasteslikeshit · 09/01/2017 14:50

Eat it. Never heard of peeling it first... skin's the best bit!

MitzyLeFrouf · 09/01/2017 14:51

I love that feeling of your teeth breaking through the slightly coarse pear skin into the soft fruit beneath.

Katedotness1963 · 09/01/2017 14:54

What kind of pears are you eating? I haven't bought any for years because they all seemed horribly dry, or had a crumbly texture.

LivingOnTheDancefloor · 09/01/2017 14:56

I eat the skin, so does my toddler DCs

albertcampionscat · 09/01/2017 14:57

Eat it

Ilovecaindingle · 09/01/2017 14:58

Wouldn't think to peel a pearl or leave the skin of a kiwi!

MitzyLeFrouf · 09/01/2017 15:00

I wouldn't eat the skin of a kiwi fruit though. It would be like eating a dessicated hedeghog.

Camomila · 09/01/2017 15:00

Eat it myself, peel it for baby DS.

Bluntness100 · 09/01/2017 15:01

I eat lead skin like an apple, wouldn't eat kiwi skin though, 😱

Soubriquet · 09/01/2017 15:03

Strange...I don't eat pears but my dc do

Why are people peeling for children?

My one and three year old eats apple and pears with the skin on .

Yes, kiwi skin is edible (I usually just add it to smoothies, though, in fairness, because of it's tickliness). Same with pomegranate - skin and pith all edible, but I put do put that in the blender and add a bit of honey and extra fruit juice, as it can be a little bitter.

SockQueen · 09/01/2017 15:06

Yep, eat it. Otherwise you end up covered in slime and mushy pear.
