Phrases you really hate on MN

Following on from the fabulous type of threads you really hate on here, I thought I would start a similar thread for phrases used on MN that really get your goat.
I'll start off with 'in this house', usually used in conjunction with some smug statement to make the OP feel inadequate/bad.
For example 'Oh, we love books in this house!' or 'there's no faddy eaters allowed in this house' or 'we all have to respect each other in this house'.
Over to you ....

OP posts:

Posts that end with "discuss."

cherrycrumblecustard · 07/01/2017 14:20

I hate it when you've started a thread and are perhaps mildly perturbed, confused, maybe a bit miffed/cross.

Them everyone assumes you're really angry "is it REALLY worth winding yourself up like this?"

Erm Confused Grin

Or over to you ....[grin}

"Are you on glue?"
It wasn't funny the first time and it's funny now.

MadHattersWineParty · 07/01/2017 14:23

'I just spat my coffee over the keyboard laughing at that'

'I laughed so hard I just woke the baby!'

I just don't believe them!

PotatoVegetable · 07/01/2017 14:25

" Boils my piss" . I swear like a trooper but really really hate that.

FishInAWetSuitAndFlippers · 07/01/2017 14:26

'I'm so glad that's all you have to worry about'.

It really annoys me, even when I was living in a women's refuge with nothing at all to my name I would worry about silly things like what to have for tea, thank God I didn't post asking for advice on trivial matters.

The liberal handing out of grips annoys me too.

I have a spare grip around here somewhere you need it more than I do.

I've even seen photos of grips posted.

AngryAngryAngry it irrationally annoys me.

SalemSaberhagen · 07/01/2017 14:26

Are you on glue is from Legally Blonde. It's shit.

Tinkly laughing, head tilting and my all time worst...he's telling you who he is OP. Listen.

I also hate people referring to their nanny just as nanny. As in, 'we went in the shop and nanny refused to pay for my dinner'. It's THE nanny!

PurpleDaisies · 07/01/2017 14:27

Ditto with "baby".

Lweji · 07/01/2017 14:29

"Something brigade."
Whichever side it is, even mine.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 07/01/2017 14:29

"No is a complete sentence"

No! It isnt. That would be fucking rude.

cherrycrumblecustard · 07/01/2017 14:29

Yeah Fish I hate it when someone posts a stupid meme to show how hilarious they are.

Lweji · 07/01/2017 14:29

No!

And yet... Wink

EverySongbirdSays · 07/01/2017 14:30

Ridiculous suggestions as to how those who are struggling can make more money.

I saw one the other day that made me so angry I left the thread - because it so easy to get that specific job with those specific parameters overnight Hmm

Cluelessness

YouMeanYouForgotCranberriesToo · 07/01/2017 14:30

"Fuck off to the far side of fuck and then fuck off some more" and any variation of it. Just fuck off is fine.

YoHoHoandabottleofTequila · 07/01/2017 14:31

Tinkly little laugh. Hmm

Fuzzypeggy · 07/01/2017 14:31

WHen the post starts "just that really" but then the poster gives loads more info. So NOT just that really.
Also "wow, just wow" and "no, just no"

pipsqueak25 · 07/01/2017 14:31

'grammar police', 'boils my piss', excuses made for a shit of a dp /dh 'but i love him' , 'my dc' [conceived with one parent only], 'we are pregnant' [no, only the woman is] god, too many to mention, and yes, i am being a grumpy moo today Grin

FinnegansCake · 07/01/2017 14:32

Agree about "Are you on glue", it was never funny.
"Get a grip" irritates me.
"I luffs" makes me want to throw my IPad against the wall.
"Pretty please" is something I have never heard in real life, which is fortunate as it makes me feel stabby murderous.

I'm sure I can come up with a list as long as a loo roll, because I've become very irritable

Lweji · 07/01/2017 14:32

he's telling you who he is OP. Listen.

You may not like the sentence, but it's true. Grin

humblesims · 07/01/2017 14:33

Boils my piss is my most hated.

SealSong · 07/01/2017 14:33

HTH at the end of a post, it's smug and passive aggressive.

Passes OP a Grip/here is a Grip.......just sod off with your stupid grips

Irritating memes and gifs. This is not facebook.

SealSong · 07/01/2017 14:35

"Wait, what?"

So overused.

SausageSoda · 07/01/2017 14:35

The word 'niace'

This emoji - Hmm. Feck off with your sneery face.

pipsqueak25 · 07/01/2017 14:35

'so'.. blah blah, arrggh ! 'changed name for this' why would someone be following every post you write and are trying to identify you ? Confused unless you are famous what the heck does it matter ?
