It's an emotional problem...some sort of issue within her. I used to go way over the top though not to that extent.

I grew up in a happy but poor family.

I married DH, who is from a middle class family...he helped me to see sense and now my DC get about ten gifts each.

I used to literally buy crap just to swell the pile. Four dolls, three different sets of lego, at least two physcially large gifts.....mine would have about 40 to 50 gifts each and that was before they were 8.

If they opened one present every, say three minutes, that would be 300 minutes without allowing for loo trips, looking what others have etc. That's 5 hours of present opening. Disgusting greed and consumerism with none of the joy of seeing everyone else's excitement and none of the pleasure of giving. Poor kids.

That many presents for a Toddler, in particular, is wasteful and insane.

I'm just wondering how she found the time to wrap them all. Plus the effect of this at school on her children.

Mine get about 20-25 presents from family and about 10 from us and santa plus a stocking of small bits like choc/socks/toothbrush/pens etc and I thought that was a lot!

Maybe like me that's how she was shown love by her parents and doesn't know how else to. I wld never go quite that far, but I am a sucker for wanting to buy everything they want.

its because she bargain hunts and stockpiles essentials. The gifts include toilietries and clothing. Whatever the kids need for the year. She also runs a money saving website to help others save hence why she can afford to do what she does.

Horrendous. If she wants to spend £1500, she should. But not on a mountain of what looks like plastic crap. The Earth cannot sustain shit like this.

My youngest gets about 40 presents.
