to put this in DD's lunchbox

EyepatchOfTravis · 14/10/2016 08:08

DD went to Pizza Hut with her Dad last night and came home with a slice of pizza in a box to put in her lunchbox today.

I forgot to put the box in the fridge last night, so it was out on the kitchen table all night.

WIBU to put that slice of pizza in DD's lunchbox for her lunch today - she was really looking forward to, but I don't know if it would make her ill and whether it's risky.

Thanks

it's a cardboard takeaway box with large holes in the lid

You want to put 'takeaway' food in your dd's lunch box? Can you not make her a sandwich and warm the pizza up for her tea?

EyepatchOfTravis · 14/10/2016 08:12

I wouldn't usually, but on a Friday the school is more lenient. She's at her Dad's for tea tonight

It'll be fine - put it in.

reader77 · 14/10/2016 08:13

Sounds fine. Not sure why a sandwich is better than a slice of pizza.

budgiegirl · 14/10/2016 08:15

Personally, I wouldn't. But I worry about these things. Whereas my mum will leave a joint of cooked meat out all night, and then eat it.

Allalonenow · 14/10/2016 08:15

It will be fine, put it in, don't dissappoint her!

EyepatchOfTravis · 14/10/2016 08:15

I'm not concerned with the fact it's pizza, just that I forgot to put in in the fridge last night

It will be sat out all day too. I wouldn't

Shinyshoes2 · 14/10/2016 08:17

I would . Have done many times and still here to tell the tale
It's not like there were flies landing In and around it

treaclesoda · 14/10/2016 08:17

Depends on the topping and how cold your kitchen is. If it's cheese and tomato I would. If it's chicken I wouldn't.

RoseGoldHippie · 14/10/2016 08:18

It'll be fine! I am normally a bit funny about food (stick to sell by dates religiously even though I know I'm probably being stupid) but I would eat that :) x

BooeyBubbleHead · 14/10/2016 08:19

I would, as long as it has no meat on it. I always leave my pizza leftovers in box overnight & eat the next day.

It's fine, I do it all the time when I have takeaway.

Ginslinger · 14/10/2016 08:38

I'd eat it

Notso · 14/10/2016 08:43

I would cold pizza is best at room temp, it's too cold from the fridge. Providing your house isn't roasting hot or has flies swarming around it or DD had said the chicken/ham/pepperoni on my pizza last night tasted weird.

BreconBeBuggered · 14/10/2016 08:48

YABU., because I have no cold pizza and I want some for breakfast now. From this viewpoint, your DD won't forgive you if you don't put it in her lunchbox.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/10/2016 08:50

I wouldn't.

It's been sitting at room temperature overnight, and then will be again for half a day in a lunchbox.

Not worth the gastro.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/10/2016 08:52

It'll be fine, she'll love it. 😄

mum2Bomg · 14/10/2016 08:54

I wouldn't - binned a leftover Dominos this week as DH didn't fridge it Angry

Pythonesque · 14/10/2016 08:56

If it was summer where I grew up, then perhaps not. This time of year, this country, it'll be fine.

idontlikealdi · 14/10/2016 08:57

I wouldn't because it's also now going to presumably sit in a sweaty lunch box until lunch time too.

Jellybean83 · 14/10/2016 08:58

We eat cold (unrefridgerated) pizza all the time, but I never have meat on my pizza (DP does tho and he's still alive) so I think that's how I justify it as being ok to eat. We've never had any adverse effects so personally I would send it.

BaronessBomburst · 14/10/2016 09:00

I never put pizza in the fridge overnight. It makes the cheese go hard. I just leave it in the kitchen. We don't ever eat pizza with meat on though.
