to put this in DD's lunchbox

EyepatchOfTravis · 14/10/2016 08:08

DD went to Pizza Hut with her Dad last night and came home with a slice of pizza in a box to put in her lunchbox today.

I forgot to put the box in the fridge last night, so it was out on the kitchen table all night.

WIBU to put that slice of pizza in DD's lunchbox for her lunch today - she was really looking forward to, but I don't know if it would make her ill and whether it's risky.

Thanks

I think it would be fine, I'd send it.

Idratherbeaunicorn · 14/10/2016 09:01

Ive eaten worse thats been left out overnight and not died (Unless I am actually dead and no-one has thought to tell me!)

tibbawyrots · 14/10/2016 09:03

The temperature in my kitchen is bloody baltic right now so if a pizza was left out there (covered) I would definitely eat it for breakfast

No idea about the lunch box; what are the school like with confiscating yummy treats from lunch boxes? while school dinners eat chips, cake etc

littlepippip · 14/10/2016 09:06

I would never feed nasty junk food to my child for their school lunch! Besides that I personally would not worry about food poisoning unless there were flies about and it was hot.

OliviaStabler · 14/10/2016 09:07

Heck no.

eatsleephockeyrepeat · 14/10/2016 09:08

No tuna, anchovies or prawns on that pizza are there?

HermioneJeanGranger · 14/10/2016 09:09

It's far too cold when it comes out of the fridge anyway!

I'm having leftover pizza hut this morning - it's been sat in the microwave to stop the cat attacking it but I've never refrigerated leftover pizza in my life.

EyepatchOfTravis · 14/10/2016 09:13

It's margerita, so no meat of any kind. I've put it in... Hoping it'll be OK...

I would eat it, no problem at all.
It was just overnight anyway.

And I'm a bit of health freak but my dcs have had pizza in their lunch box. The school never said anything about it

Olympiathequeen · 14/10/2016 09:14

Food hygiene regulations say that previously warmed food shouldn't be left out more than 2 hours, cold 4. After these times it risks growing bug, especially meat.

So no, it's not safe probably be fine though

eatsleephockeyrepeat · 14/10/2016 09:17

I'd totally eat it, but my house is an ice-cube over night at the moment! Might not have been so keen in August...

Shockers · 14/10/2016 09:18

The takeaway pizzas we get occasionally aren't nasty junk food. They're stonebaked fresh dough with tomato, cheese and herbs on.

I think if a child is having greasy deep pan, stuffed crust (I saw them advertised with hot dog sausage inside the crustShock) pizzas, then you can make the assumption that the pizza is junky, but a freshly baked Italian style pizza isn't awful food.

Don't tar all pizzas with the same brush.

MidsummersNight · 14/10/2016 09:19

I've rolled out of bed many a morning with a hangover and eaten pizza that's been sat out all night from the night before!
Totally fine, go for it!

ZuleikaDobson · 14/10/2016 09:19

I think it'll be fine. Even in the south temperatures are cold enough overnight at the moment.

IHaveBrilloHair · 14/10/2016 09:20

I'll be eating leftover pizza for dinner tonight that hasn't been in the fridge

SantanaBinLorry · 14/10/2016 09:23

Don't tar all pizzas with the same brush.
Grin
We've got three pizza places in town.
Shit Pizza Place
Proper Pizza Place
and
Proper Posh Pizza Place.

I'd/we'd eat it.

LyndaNotLinda · 14/10/2016 09:26

Of course it will be fine. It's cheese, tomato and bread. What on earth do you think will happen to it overnight? Confused

littlepippip · 14/10/2016 09:27

Pizza's can be quite a healthy meal, but Pizza Hut for your kids packed lunch is shitty.

LyndaNotLinda · 14/10/2016 09:29

Oh do fuck off littlepip, there's a love

crashdoll · 14/10/2016 09:33

No, I wouldn't leave cheese out all night and then part of the day and eat it.

KitKats28 · 14/10/2016 09:35

littlepippip nasty junk food?? Hahahahahaha. It's cheese and tomato pizza. Bread, cheese, tomato. Like a sandwich. FFS. 🙄

HairsprayBabe · 14/10/2016 09:37

littlepippip
Just like your attitude you mean?

Pizza will be fine, even when left out overnight, I am cross that you made my hungry now OP thought!

HamsterTastic · 14/10/2016 09:39

Ew. It's not overnight. It's overnight and THEN all afternoon.

NerrSnerr · 14/10/2016 09:39

We should all bow down to littlepippip's superior and perfect parenting. It's one slice of pizza for fucks sake.
