To call 111 re neighbours

So neighbours that are blasting music and screaming 'down it'!!And 'Drink'! In a marquee in their garden and getting louder by the minute!
People are actually screaming!! so I'm not being touchy but I have a 3yo ds that keeps waking up and it feels like the party is in my bedroom.

So aibu or are they taking the piss??

I put up with this so many times in my old house. If they had woken ds I would have either sent dh round or called 111. Good luck, I moved house in the end!

I'd leave them to it until about Midnight and then if your DC is still being disturbed, nip round and have a polite word.

I agree wait until midnight, then go round there and ask them to quieten it down before calling the police

If they're partying every night I would give them a knock at about midnight but if it's a one off then leave them be, I'm sure it'll soon settle down.....

I'd also speak to them before calling anybody, most people are perfectly reasonable.

The police won't do anything any way I believe.

They are busy enough on a Saturday night. I understand that they won't attend a private party just to tell them to shut up. They will turn up if they have reason to believe there are drugs other illegal stuff involved.

Maybe you live near me. My neighbours are in a gazebo being roudy but they haven't woken the kids up I can just hear them now I'm in bed.

Oh dear I didn't realise that 111 was wrong. Good job I asked mn first!
The music is loud but it's the constant screaming and shouting that is driving me mad as we have to be up early tomorrow.
Sunshine we've only just moved here Confused it's a quiet small village --

There's a gazebo party in the next street to me and I can hear the music/laughter on the breeze.

Well I say breeze, actually it's bloody windy, cold and rainy. I feel quite sorry for them Grin

Oh if you've only just moved there, don't set yourself up as that neighbour when it's only 11pm on a Saturday night.

It's September now anyway, so garden parties will become few and far between I imagine.

You'll manage sleep wise somehow, just like you must have when your DC was a baby.

Police won't do anything, we had a nuisance neighbour playing loud music at 2am (fucking Bob Marley),it went on until 6am. Called the police and all we got told was to get in touch with the landlord, this was midweek too, they could even hear the music on the other end. Totally soul destroying when you have young kids and have to get up for the school run in the morning.

Thankfully the house has been sold and is not a bedsit anymore.

They will do nothing. I had neighbour's who were dealing drugs, growing weed, play trance every night through the night so loud that my wax ear plugs couldn't mute it. My bed used to bounce with the bass. I would ring every number available to me and no one could help. The next step was one of those noise recorders so the council could get involved. Luckily I moved out and even more lucky for the bloke that moved in straight after was that the knobhead over dosed a few months later and I believe the house is now a nice place to live once more.

You're a bit premature to start panicking really.

People (especially children) do learn to cope with noise as soon as it becomes familiar anyway.

Not that I'm saying you should put up with this every weekend. Just that from now until the end of your life there will be times when there are noises at night, that mean not such a peaceful night's sleep.

I suppose my neighbours felt like this when my kids were born. I know I certainly did when theirs were.
