To think this should be considered a Food Crime?

So I have just seen an advert for it and it reminded me how much I hate it. Jelly with fruit in it. Why? Why would you ruin jelly by putting fruit (that invariably goes soggy and mushy) in it? Just why? Same goes for yoghurt with fruity bits in it. Makes me feel sick just thinking about it. 😫

What foods do you feel have been ruined worldwide or by someone that you know?

Nutella does NOT go on toast.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/09/2016 21:13

Nutella does not go near my mouth but I know I am unusual with that. Grin

Yes it does.

Putting tomato sauce on anything is a food crime, as is the mushing of perfectly good peas.

UmbongoUnchained · 01/09/2016 21:15

Nutella goes on men.

Bettercallsaul1 · 01/09/2016 21:15

I think it depends how quickly you eat the jelly after you've put the fruit in - if it's just after it's set, the fruit shouldn't be mushy! I may be biased as I have very fond, nostalgic memories of this from childhood!

acasualobserver · 01/09/2016 21:15

Someone on here was talking recently about dipping pizza in garlic sauce. Unnatural behaviour IMO.

AverageGayLad · 01/09/2016 21:17

DerekSprechenZeDick · 01/09/2016 21:17

Biting a cheese string instead of peeling it

jugotmail · 01/09/2016 21:17

Soggy bread - bleugh. Bread and butter pudding, bread sauce, summer pudding etc all wrong.

MrsMarigold · 01/09/2016 21:18

Fruit in jelly should be boozy

MonsterINTHECupboard · 01/09/2016 21:18

When I was little my mum put all sorts of tinned fruit in jelly. Then it had Angel Delight and Sprinkles on the top. Totally normal! Wouldn't eat it now.

Don't like Nutella nor Pineapple on Pizza (weird). Would happily bite a cheese string though.

SabineUndine · 01/09/2016 21:19

I eat liquorice Catherine wheels whole, instead of unwinding them. So there.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/09/2016 21:19

acasual, when I go to Pizza Express, I keep the garlic dip from the dough balls and dip my pizza crusts in it. Heaven with cheese.

RozzlePops · 01/09/2016 21:22

I smear coleslaw on pizza!! Lock me up and throw away the key!! Grin

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/09/2016 21:22

Angel Delight was always the pudding when I had school dinners. Grim!

acasualobserver · 01/09/2016 21:22

I just don't think that's what the Italians had in mind when they invented pizza.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/09/2016 21:24

I'm sure it wasn't but it's still good. Grin Only Pizza Express garlic dip though. Not just any old garlic dip.

AverageGayLad · 01/09/2016 21:24

Derek I had a friend who did that.

Had. Grin

IggyPopsicle · 01/09/2016 21:27

Fruit in meat, e.g. pork stuffed with apricots, or apple in sausages.

I like gammon with pineapple but that's it!

Pestilence13610 · 01/09/2016 21:27

This is getting close to the perpetual trifle discussion dons tinfoil hat

VanillaSugar · 01/09/2016 21:28

YANBU

And jelly most definitely does NOT go in Trifle.

What, you say? How is it made?

Get trifle sponges, stuck them together with posh jam. Soak liberally in sherry. Add more sherry. Pour on custard. Then whipped cream. No jelly. No hundreds & thousands. No Birds Eye crapioni.
