To think this should be considered a Food Crime?

So I have just seen an advert for it and it reminded me how much I hate it. Jelly with fruit in it. Why? Why would you ruin jelly by putting fruit (that invariably goes soggy and mushy) in it? Just why? Same goes for yoghurt with fruity bits in it. Makes me feel sick just thinking about it. 😫

What foods do you feel have been ruined worldwide or by someone that you know?

Angel Delight with Dream Topping. I thought it was delicious! Mind you I was on!y 10!

Darcychu · 01/09/2016 22:08

Peanut butter and Jam like the americans.... Ewwwy :(

Mycatsabastard · 01/09/2016 22:09

This may not be the thread for me.

I love jelly in trifle.

I love fruit in jelly.

I love marmite and peanut butter particularly with banana in a sandwich

Nutella and banana in a sandwich is even better

I have been known to dip pizza crusts into salad cream.

I'll get my coat .....

AndroidAddict · 01/09/2016 22:09

It seems perfectly normal to most people round here but chips with gravy, mushy peas, beans or cheese sounds rank. I hate soggy chips - they have to be greasy and well cooked (ie not anaemic) but not soggy. Having said that, I do love dipping them into the yolk of a runny fried egg.

LineyReborn · 01/09/2016 22:09

I just discovered a strange toast topper type thing that is pizza flavoured. You smear it on toast and vomit and grill it. Now that's what I call a Food Crime.

And it's only 50p.

AndroidAddict · 01/09/2016 22:14

Someone mentioned soggy bread. My favourite meal is pie & mash but not mushy peas as they're the food of the actual devil absolutely drowned in gravy and I always use a slice or two of bread soak up the last bit of gravy at the end.

MyDressIsInferiorBlue · 01/09/2016 22:14

Bread size is a really serious issue.

On one hand, many toasters can't take Warburtons bread.

Yet on the other Warburtons bread is only just large enough for a toastie make.

I mean what the actual fuck were the manufacturers thinking?!

Shakirawannabe · 01/09/2016 22:19

Wine I do that! But I have it with spaghetti Bol if that's the same

Boogers · 01/09/2016 22:21

Android, you're a person after my own heart with the gravy dip. H looks at me gone out when I do it. Same with doing bread and dripping with the meat juices from a roast beef. Tiny bit of salt, lush!

SpaceKoala · 01/09/2016 22:22

Someone In the queue ahead of me the other day in the cafe at work asked for a croissant to be halved and put lots of ketchup and bacon in it..

Made me shiver

But then, I like toast with peanut butter and salami...

yeOldeTrout · 01/09/2016 22:24

Toast ruins nutella.
Fruit works surprisingly well in jelly, though.

MyDressIsInferiorBlue · 01/09/2016 22:30

Salted caramel should be banned. Why, just why, would you mix the two? Yuck.

Mind you I don't get the "season with salt" crap either. Very few recipes actually need any salt adding.

TheSpottedZebra · 01/09/2016 22:32

Re toast, my life has been REVOLUTIONISED this week, as I have bought a 4 slice toaster. I don't toast 4 slices at a time, just 2 max, but lying down so the toastage is even throughout.

4 slicer toasters = The Future

PitchFork · 01/09/2016 22:34

you lot remind me of my italian colleague who almost faints if the work cantine serves farfalle pasta with anything other than salmon&parsley.

Fruit in jelly has to come from a tin

I can't stand double fat: so bacon sarnies can't have butter in them; jackets with cheese can't have butter in them (at the same time, I sometimes add butter if there's some potato left after the cheese is gone)

bookbook · 01/09/2016 22:45

Hang on Spotted - a 4 slice toaster? so 2 long toasting bits, not 4 small ones? - I may have to investigate.....

TwatbadgingCuntfuckery · 01/09/2016 22:48

Pineapple on a pizza is a crime.

Peanut butter is vile death in a jar

nutella is far too sweet and sickly.

best foods ever. Cheese toastie but with one side of the bread spread with tangy tomato chutney.
cheesy chips.
cheese on toast with Worcestershire sauce
marmite on toast with a fried egg on top.
steak pie and mushy peas. not the dry kind. The proper mushy kind.

SleepFreeZone · 01/09/2016 22:49

Hot banana 😞

TheSpottedZebra · 01/09/2016 22:52

Yep, booky - 2 long slots. 2 perfectly toasted slices.
And then 2 more.
And then...

TheCompanyOfCats · 01/09/2016 22:55

Cheese with fruit in it - cranberries, orangey bits, etc. Why?

Houseconfusion · 01/09/2016 22:56

Nutella goes on toast.

HTH.

LineyReborn · 01/09/2016 22:59

So. Pizza flavoured toast topping, from the 50p tin, with an added slice of Smart Price processed cheese, is revolting but yet addictive. You get three slices out of it.

bookbook · 01/09/2016 22:59

TheCompanyOfCats - totally, totally agree! My DM used to buy stilton with apricots... !

sharkinthedark · 01/09/2016 23:01

I like jelly with fruit in.

Dream topping and squirty cream are very wrong.
