Today I was trying to park my car with my 2 young children outside the supermarket but couldn't get a baby space. I then saw a woman get out of her car from a mum and baby space WITH NO CHILD! She just parked, got out all alone and strolled into the supermarket with a smug look on her face . (OK there was no smug look I just made that part up but I just imagined her smugness) Whilst I huffed and puffed across the whole car park with an unruly 4 yr old and baby in buggy!!!!! IT INFURIATES ME !

Omg why did you not shoot her

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 22:49

Oh no.

No no no no.

Here we go again. Grin

makingmiracles · 07/06/2016 22:50

Yanbu but there's not a lot you can do about it really, the spaces aren't policed by the supermarkets.
Fwiw I have been parking in them recently, 40wks and the other day I couldn't get back in my car as someone parked so close, though I do try to find end of Isle first but if not then p&c

KoalaDownUnder · 07/06/2016 22:50

Samcro I just splurted out loud Grin

Wolfiefan · 07/06/2016 22:50

But it is ok if they park there accidentally?!
Confused

ScarletForYa · 07/06/2016 22:50

Sad🔫

Cantstopeatingchocolate · 07/06/2016 22:50

Yes, totally bugs me too.
I glare at people like that. Dh says I should say something but I'd rather seethe about it. Smile

FeckinCrutches · 07/06/2016 22:51

You've not been round these parts long have you OP? This has been done to death, then a thousand times more.

Carys62 · 07/06/2016 22:51

It happens all the time. If I wasn't sweating my head of and guilty of being unable to control my 4yo... Then I definatly would of drop kicked her and sat on the roof of her annoyingly amazing car Angry

Since when did walking a few hundred yards with a pushchair and an almost school age child become such an impossible task?

Trills · 07/06/2016 22:52

What about dads?

Or babysitters?

Are they allowed, or is it only mums and babies?

KenDoddsDadsDog · 07/06/2016 22:52

You'll only be annoyed about it for a short time . It will pass .

Our local supermarket has some mother and baby spaces next to the cash points . There are always loads of people parking there just to use the cash points. Recently a van was parked across 3 spaces, driver using the cash point!

Samcro · 07/06/2016 22:53

Well really
You have a 4 yr old, they should be able to the shopping for you

SusanAndBinkyRideForth · 07/06/2016 22:54

Might have been me.

I'm so used to having the kids with me and so parking in the parent spaces , that the other day I parked there without children.
In my defence, Dh was seriously ill with sepsis in hospital, the kids hadnt slept due to all the trauma, and I also have fucking awful SPD - and then proceeded to have a complete sobbing breakdown in the shop, as it was the first time all week I hadn't had to hold myself together in front of with Dh or kids.

So shoot me.

Carys62 · 07/06/2016 22:54

Yes I have been here for a long time... I just needed to post!!!!! I am just crazy annoyed at this one occasion and DH can't cope with my rants Smile

This is not going to go well.

I generally don't mind or indeed notice but do think white van men who do it are total wankers. They do it so often, it's just a new thing to add to the list of reasons the white can man stereotype exists.

FeckinCrutches · 07/06/2016 22:54

Yes, aren't they Parent & Child?

FeckinCrutches · 07/06/2016 22:54

You must have managed to miss all of them then!

WellErrr · 07/06/2016 22:55

The bitch. I hope she got a shit trolley as karma.

Sighing · 07/06/2016 22:55

Normally i can't even raise rage at the lazy feckers who apparently are too precious to walk across the car park (or perhaps they are hoping to improve the walking & contortionist abilities of parents struggling to manage doors/ seats pushchairs etc). But last week. Parent & child space at the leisure centre. I spotted a very energetic looking gym going lady. ... later on I realised she was a member of staff. Great parked there all bloody day. Confused

ThoraGruntwhistle · 07/06/2016 22:55

Imagine that parent and child spaces are not a thing. They no longer exist. Every single supermarket has decided that they're stupid and got rid of them.

Would your life continue as normal?

SusanAndBinkyRideForth · 07/06/2016 22:55

Ah just read it was a nice car. Def me then! I have a crappy, dented, scratched 15yo French banger Grin

WellErrr · 07/06/2016 22:55

Good point Samcro
