No, I think they look lovely!

I dress mine (9 months but sizewise in 12-18 month clothes) in rompers, babygrows and knitted cardigans with long socks. They look lovely.

There's time for jeans and things when they're older.

TigerPath · 11/05/2016 18:19

I think rompers look a bit odd past the age of 6months, but maybe that's just me. My DS is 9months and only wears rompers as pyjamas. He is so wriggly during nappy changes I avoid things with poppers! When I see an older baby in a romper/sleepsuit I always wonder whether they're still in night things.

I dress my DS in short-sleeve bodysuits with soft shorts or joggers, and a jumper/ jacket/cardigan on top.

kinkytoes · 11/05/2016 18:22

As long as they have chubby thighs, I'd go for it!

lunalunalooney · 11/05/2016 18:22

Have to agree with Tiger im afraid OP.

But each to their own. If you want to dress your child in a romper, do it. Your not dressing him in a bin bag so I don't see why its anyone elses business.

toobreathless · 11/05/2016 18:23

As long as you want to. Definitely fine at 2yrs especially short ones in the hot weather.

Hurryhurryhurry · 11/05/2016 18:23

To the same age girls can wear them

NeedACleverNN · 11/05/2016 18:23

Nothing wrong with a romper on a two year old.

I had ds in one a couple of days ago. He is 14 months so way past the "6months is best" cutoff

He was cool and he looked cute

OwlinaTree · 11/05/2016 18:26

I would in the nice weather. They look super cute in them!

Peasandsweetcorn · 11/05/2016 18:26

DS is a May baby and I had him in rompers the summer after he turned 2. He was my last baby, small for his age and I have always loved rompers and they seemed so comfy.

Artandco · 11/05/2016 18:28

Definatley. Mine were potty trained by then and still wore them

FutureGadgetsLab · 11/05/2016 18:29

When I see an older baby in a romper/sleepsuit I always wonder whether they're still in night things.

It wasn't long ago "sleepsuits" were called babygrows. Why do you think they are night things?

FilthyRascal · 11/05/2016 18:29

I hope the summer after they turn 2 because that's how old ds is and I've got a lovely stash of rompers for him to wear this summer! I do wonder sometimes but then I give myself a shake - 2 is just a baby really! Not "too old" for anything!!

ALemonyPea · 11/05/2016 18:31

Vertbaudet do them to age 3. I think they can look cute, depends on the child. DS3 would have looked cute, the elder two, not as much.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 11/05/2016 18:33

My ds is twelve.
His onsie looks like a romper ...

ShatnersBassoon · 11/05/2016 18:35

Until they no longer romp.

Janeymoo50 · 11/05/2016 18:36

I'd have said until about 12-16 months, but seeing the one you posted, fine in my view for the summer. Is this also a romper? (shows age!!).

To ask what age boys can wear rompers until?
walchesterweasel · 11/05/2016 18:39

I saw knee length denim bib and braces being worn at the week-end by a man well into his fifties . I didn't think that was cute !

MrsKoala · 11/05/2016 18:48

Will your almost 2 year fit in it? Envy My 20mo is in 3-4yo clothes and nothing cute fits him. I would put him in one of those if i could. Go for it i say.

ipsogenix · 11/05/2016 18:48

I think it's probably fine until pre-school.

Hurryhurryhurry · 11/05/2016 18:51

walchester was that in ulverston?

LoveFromUs · 11/05/2016 18:52

Yes it would be fine for him to wear inside the house but I wouldn't bring him out in it. I stopped putting mine in rompers from around 8 months as babies look a lot nicer in clothes.

wallybantersjunkbox · 11/05/2016 18:54

why - I was thinking the same about DS 11 who just cruised past in his onesie..Grin

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 11/05/2016 18:56

Put him in a romper suit and take a photo to embarrass him when he's 16 Grin

Furiosa · 11/05/2016 18:59

DS wore romper suits until about two and a half.

He looked adorable Grin

winchester1 · 11/05/2016 19:00

For me its potty training that is the total cut off but I find once they are running and climbing rompers just don't last as long as a pair of proper dungarees.
