Actually, thinking about it how can a baby/toddler/pre schooler be too old for anything? Confused

They're still brand new!

elephantpig · 11/05/2016 19:02

My 'style inspiration' for future children is Chloe and Beans on instagram. Her oldest is 4 and wears leggings everyday!

FeckOfffCup · 11/05/2016 19:10

I think they're cute. If I see any I like this year I will probably buy one or two for DS (19mo)
He is also still in babygrows/sleepsuits for bedtime. The 12-18 sizes and a couple of the 9-12m still fit him so I'll still use them get my money's worth but once he grows out of these I'll start using pyjamas I think.

FeckOfffCup · 11/05/2016 19:14

He doesn't have any jeans either, I just buy him leggings because they seem comfy. He has a couple of pairs of cotton dungarees which he wears with bodysuits still. Maybe I baby him Blush

Witchinghours · 11/05/2016 19:18

Ds wore a polo shirt style romper when he was 2; practical and cute.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 11/05/2016 19:18

DS had a couple of romper suits for the summer when he was two - nice and cool but also good for covering up in the sun. He had a blue and white striped set which I loved.

Aw.

CantWaitForWarmWeather · 11/05/2016 19:20

Well my youngest DS is 16 months and I will still buy him a few romper suits for this summer. Baby clothes go up to 18-24 months (in the baby sections) and romper suits go up to this size, so I will still be making the most of them this summer when he's about a year and a half.
I think they look really cute :)

sharknad0 · 11/05/2016 19:24

I find them cute until 2 or 3 years old, it depends on the size of the kid as well. A 2 yo is still a baby, they look lovely in rompers. I agree that the real cut-off is potty training, one of mine was potty trained just before he turned 4, the other one before he was 2. I would have loved to keep him in summer rompers for longer.

cleaty · 11/05/2016 19:52

They are practical and cute. As long as they are not wearing them by the time they go to school, I think its fine.

Marmalade85 · 11/05/2016 19:57

Is a romper the same as a babygrow? Mine is 5m and now only wears babygrows at night.

Daffydil · 11/05/2016 20:04

Nothing cuter than a toddler in a shortie romper!

SalemSaberhagen · 11/05/2016 20:06

DD wears them, she is 2 in September. I just call them playsuits!

NeedACleverNN · 11/05/2016 20:07

Baby grows are all in ones. So cover the legs and arms. Also known as sleepsuits

Rompers have short sleeves on the arms and legs and just cover the body, shoulders and top of the legs

MrsKoala · 11/05/2016 20:29

Both of mine were sadly out of rompers really young because they hated getting dressed and undressed and i found separates easier for nappy changes. Also if they are sick or spill something it's easier and less washing to change a top or bottoms. And of course being bloody gigantic doesn't help. I get the 20mo popper vests from John Lewis as they are the only place i have found that go up past 18-24mo.

FutureGadgetsLab · 11/05/2016 20:30

I find rompers easier than separates for nappy changes.

MrsKoala · 11/05/2016 20:45

I find it easier with 'trousers' because when they are kicking and screaming i can sit them upright, turn them away from me and sort of slide them into them/pull them on while they try to headbutt me backwards - they seem/ed to hate being on their backs.Fiddling around with poppers while being kicked in the face was just too hard. Same reason i switched to pull up nappies at about 8mo.

FutureGadgetsLab · 11/05/2016 20:50

Koala mine kicks but he doesn't sit so for me, it's easier to open the poppers change him and do them back up! With trousers he pulls them off himself and won't sit still long enough to let you put them on.

I might try pull on nappies!

Twinklestar2 · 11/05/2016 20:54

Thanks all, I may get him a couple for our holiday next month Smile

Ds is 9months and I love him in babygrows and rompers! Relatives have bought him lots of jeans and cords but soon realise that they are not easy when attempting to change a nappy. He doesn't stay still for a minute.

The rompers and babygrows just look so comfy.

I love them!

I think whether they're okay at 2 depends on the child and whether they still look like a toddler or have crossed over into child if that makes sense? DD is small for her age but even now at 2.9 she definitely looks like a little girl more than a baby so I don't think a romper or baby style clothes would suit her but they did 6 months ago.

DS (10mo) has lots of rompers and I hope he's got more than a year before he doesn't suit the baby look any more.

cleaty · 11/05/2016 22:08

I prefer them to young kids dressed like teenagers. I am old fashioned. I like babies and toddlers to be dressed the age they are. At this age, the kids themselves just want to be comfortable.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 11/05/2016 22:21

DD is 7 weeks and I love rompers! Hate the word "Romper" though-mainly because MIL has this irritating way of saying it and it drives me mad. Blush

SalemSaberhagen · 12/05/2016 00:41

Future Aldi do pull on nappies, they are great.

onecurrantbun1 · 12/05/2016 02:26

Up until they're potty trained?
