Seventeen Loads of Washing... I'm not am I?

AIBU in the slightest? Seventeen (spelt out so you're sure it's not a typo). 17 loads of washing this week I have done and put away. (As well as working 72+ hours) I accept I am a little bit OCD about the sheets and towels being on a hot wash alone and that only white things go in the white wash but I do not understand how this household can make so much damn washing!?!!! These are all full loads.

AIBU to ask how many loads you do on an average week, if towels and bedding are done at least once a week and if 22 flannels are an average weeks usage in your household?? I probably am but please ...tell me they are not going to put "now we have no clean clothes to wear" on my gravestone?

There has to be an easier way than this... Surely?

17 loads is ridiculous. Why are you creating so much work for yourself and then moaning? You can surely stop doing this if it's getting to you.

22 flannels?! Ditch the flannels!

I presume everyone else in your house is able bodied? Why the heck are you slaving away doing things they can do for themselves?

Bedding and towels done weekly plus work/school unis, swimgear ect and i only do 7 loads a week

Ermm... One to 3 a week usually, although I do live on my own at the moment. One clothes, one towels, one bedding. If DH is home then there will be at least two of clothes, possibly 3 if we are being sporty. Bedding and towels are only biweekly though.

How old are the DC?

Mine sort out the washing into piles and put their own away...

Are you one of those weirdos people who change the towels and all the bedding every day?

I have done that many loads in the past when the weather was bad and I needed to catch up. Then I got a tumble dryer and a large capacity washing machine and I only do about 7 a week now with no backlog.

4 of us in the house creates (full loads) 3 x towels, 4 x bedding, 1 x dog bedding & towels, 1 x whites, 4 x colours, 3 x darks. 16 loads a week. I don't iron dog stuff (!), towels or bedding.

Also I expect that the kids put their sheets on the wash every sunday morning, dp does the towels and a white wash in a sat so we share the washing

And ive not put away for them since they were under three

I do an average of one wash a day. One day for towels and flannels, one day for bedding, the other days stuff like football, rugby, p.e and judo kits which go straight in to dry overnight as they're regularly used twice a week, school uniform all in on a friday evening, ironing (hah) and putting away is all done on a sunday so I know there's enough to keep them in uniform for the full week. We have a 9kg washer though, so for a smaller machine I'd probably do a few more.

17 is madness unless you're those Duggar folk. And if you are them, you have bigger things to worry about than your washing.

2a 1c here. Probably do 2 dark loads, 1 light load and either towels or bedding (usually our bedding one week, DD's bedding the next week and towels as and when needed).

Of that a load is school uniform (everything on clean every day) and school games kits 3-4 times per week). Clean bath towel every night as currently (temporarily) no heated rail thingy to hang them to dry.

In answer to your question: there is just me and DP and we probably do about 5 loads a week: one light, two dark, one bedding/towels and one for DP as he is a keen cyclist, gym bunny and semi-professional referee so he gets through a lot of 'kit' in a week.

I have about two loads as I wear different PJs every night. DH has one or two loads a week, couple of trousers shirts etc. If it's two I add some towels to his wash.
DD has one load a week (toddler, small clothes)
One load of bedding a week.
Bathroom mats once a week.
Towels as and when.
Sometimes an extra load of bibs and kitchen towels (I don't use them to wipe my kitchen table but still replace them nearly daily )
Maximum of 9 washes a week.
Sometimes I wash the dog stuff but it's so hairy I need a few rinse cycles and this annoys me.

How many kids do you have? Do you tumble dry everything? It'd be a logistical nightmare wasing 17 loads a week in my house!!!

Are you really "a bit OCD"? Do you have crippling and debilitating anxiety? If so, there is therapy available, if not,please don't use a serious illness to describe being a bit of a clean freak.

We probably do about ten loads week and there are six of us at home...

I have a large family. 5 dc at home.SN dc& a toddler. 11 kg machine i average 20 -22 loads depending on how many beds need to be done.

I probably do about 10-12 loads a week. 2 or 3 every second day, then towels take two loads and bedsheets once a week. Kids bedsheets once a fortnight. Baby, 5 year old and two adults.

Clearly, we are skanky in this house.

No I'm just really anti wet stuff on radiators. Personal choice.

17?! Christ your water bill must be something else!

4 per week here - although we have no DC. One dark load (40 degree), one bedding (40 degree), one sports wash (40 degree + dettol) and one for towels and cloths (60 degree).

Do you have a washing machine with a tiny capacity? We are six, with a 10kilo WM, and we do a load a day, not strictly every day but it does pile up if not done though.
