To ask who is your mobile network provider and why

Suddenly the world is my oyster with mobiles, I am leaving my network provider, buying myself an early exit and I can choose any network I want and to a degree any phone. So who are you with and why-and why would you avoid a particular network?
I like the look of 02, with Priority, Vodafone are cheaper on tarrifs though.

The boring bit- but so there is no drip feed on providers, after 19 years with Orange/EE and now with less than 6 months to go on a contract with a useless phone (screen sensitivity gone-and some random thing where if I connect to any WIFI the phone randomly texts and calls people and switches screens constantly) they want to charge me £201 to stay with them and upgrade or £214 to leave them- so I am going to leave them.

I know I am probably unreasonable to expect them to do anything for my loyalty, but to actually say "we don't want you to go, we want you to stay and pay £201 and choose one of our great phones and tarrifs" is a bit rich isn't it?

We are sim only with EE. Get the best coverage for our area with them

EE, only 4G network in my home (stuck on the side of a hill).

I noticed that ESD somehow something isn't covered in any given month under "unlimited"

I'm with O2 as they have the best reception in my area. DH is with Vodafone and they are fine until you have to contact customer service!

Giff Gaff for me. Also for DS, DSS and now DSFather.

Good value, good coverage. No problems.

DH just about to leave EE as his signal has been poor for a while - despite initially being excellent. Prices are high - not much discount for his years of loyalty to them.

So he is in the midst of decision making too.

I have Three 321 pay as you go as it only charges for what you use. Essentially I only use it for data when navigating, and it has cost me less than a pound a month to run. The phone itself cost £200 on Ebay a year and a half ago.

EE - only cos its a work phone. Coverage is poor but wifi calling helps.

Ee payg but leaving! Hate them. Very expensive and coverage is awful. Am thinking of going to vodaphone again either payg or sim only. Any advice about simple easy phones to use gratefully received.

Joined them years ago, and never found it necessary to leave. I don't shop around tho. DP gets seemingly much better deals with Vodaphone.

We have as much as poss go through Tesco and get about £200 to double up at Xmas and £100 to use in the summer on days out, which usually quadruples.

That's what happens when you lock yourself into a contract to buy a phone over a fixed period. Next time, buy an unlocked phone from a reliable online supplier and a SIM only monthly contract for the airtime. Then you are free to change at any time. It's cheaper too, even if you have to take out a loan to buy the phone.
Fixed phone contracts are a ripoff.

Vodafone and it was gone wrong from day one. Their customer services is absolutely horrendous.

EE, yes they're shit on customer service but coverage is good & they offered the best deal at the time.

GiffGaff - DH has been with them for two years and I started using them last year - they are fab. DH is on a PAYG and I pay £5 a month but I can change or top up at any time.

I was with Vodafone and when my contract ended and I then cancelled it they kept charging me for a contract I no longer had - this went on for months.
I had a file of correspondence where every response they gave me contradicted the previous response.
The lied to me and I ended up paying a cancellation fee even though my contract had ended just to get them out of my life.

BT mobile, as I'm a broadband customer and they offered me a sim-only deal of £10 p/m for 500 minutes, unlimited texts and 3 GB of data and some Amazon vouchers.

Plus you can connect to zillions of BT Wifi hotspots seemingly everywhere, so I haven't yet used more than 500 mb of data.

I'm with 3, £42 per month for an iPhone 6, unlimited calls texts and Internet and I've never had a signal problem.

Vodafone sim only. It's the only network I can get a signal where I live and have no complaints but I bought phone separately

Tesco. Chespest deal, that we've been on for years. When we go into tesco, the bloke says : blimey, that's a good deal.

If you are on EE it's worth sticking with them because their coverage is going to get very much better over the coming months. They have been awarded a huge contract to provide 4G coverage to the emergency services over the whole country, that will involve many new base stations.

Vodafone and they are bloody awful - cant wait till my contract ends, their customer service is beyond useless!

o2, and just because they offered the cheapest iPhone contract at the time. I've been with them about six years now and I've never had an issue so far.

I am on o2 pay and go. I have never changed provider as I am quite happy with the deal I get. I don't use my phone for Internet but I pay £10 per month for unlimited text and 100 minute. My Dh changed his and is happy with his deal from giff gaff. He does use it for Internet

Well I hope their customer service for the Emergency Services is better. I don't think coverage will be an issue where I am, but will see what other people locally say.

The idea of buying a phone upfront and the sim only is starting to appeal....
