To ask who is your mobile network provider and why

Suddenly the world is my oyster with mobiles, I am leaving my network provider, buying myself an early exit and I can choose any network I want and to a degree any phone. So who are you with and why-and why would you avoid a particular network?
I like the look of 02, with Priority, Vodafone are cheaper on tarrifs though.

The boring bit- but so there is no drip feed on providers, after 19 years with Orange/EE and now with less than 6 months to go on a contract with a useless phone (screen sensitivity gone-and some random thing where if I connect to any WIFI the phone randomly texts and calls people and switches screens constantly) they want to charge me £201 to stay with them and upgrade or £214 to leave them- so I am going to leave them.

I know I am probably unreasonable to expect them to do anything for my loyalty, but to actually say "we don't want you to go, we want you to stay and pay £201 and choose one of our great phones and tarrifs" is a bit rich isn't it?

Smarty - they have several sim-only packages but mine is £5 a month for unlimited calls & texts, and 1Gb of data. They give you money back if you don't use all the data, and it's a month-by-month contract. They use 3 network so were affected by the 3 outage a few weeks ago, but otherwise fine.

EE PAYG

15/ month gets me unlimited calls, texts and 12Gb of data

I buy 2nd hand phones for around 200ish although current one is a brand new budget Samsung and it's excellent

I know IABU for posting here but is who is on 3 mobile network and can recommend please?
I'm looking for a contract for my teen DD for Christmas and looks like £8pm saving if I go with 3 rather than O2.

O2. Have been with them for years. Trying to remember the last time I wasn't and I think it was around 2004 when I was with T-Mobile! Switched to o2 because they offered the best bundles when I was a teenager using pay as you go. Stuck with them when I transferred to contract because they had the cheapest contract offers on iPhones and also have never experienced an issue with them. Priority can be decent occasionally as well. I went to a gig last year at Leeds o2 and it was free to put my coat in the cloakroom because I had priority! I was chuffed .

Paying up front for the phone seems to make it much more real as a purchase.

I think I am going for an S6 or S6 edge unlocked phone and will get a PAC code for my number.
Can anyone recommend a good phone supplier?

I have sim only with O2 and pay £15 per month for 2GB data and unlimited calls and texts. I always buy unlocked phones outright so things work out cheaper in long run. I don't like signing up on 12 or 24 month contracts.

I must add I don't shop at any shop regularly I swap around because they send me discount codes and the tesco Christmas saver gives a brilliant interest rate

Tesco in this house hold, we got vouchers, points and some other freebies too! I use all my points for Christmas also Christmas saver plus it's the only network that covers my area they work of o2's signals at a fraction of the price

I'm with EE because I used to be with T-mobile, and I was with T-mobile because my DH was with them, and so it was cheaper to call him. He, in turn, was with T-mobile because his schoolfriends were all on One2One back in the late 90s, and so it was cheaper to call each other. As I understand it, they were all on One2One because Chaz-man got a proper banging deal on a phone from his mate and it happened to be on One2One. Quite who Chaz-man is/was, I have never established.

I've just moved to BT and got an excellent sim card deal because of already having their broadband and landline. Delighted with the price and the coverage, plus I can log onto their wireless networks for free all over the place.

3 GB data, 150 mins and unlimited texts. Been with them quite a while and get a new perk every 3 months so I boost my data.

BT are offering a voucher for an unlocked phone, £50 off if I I sign up for a Sim card contract- with a £15P/M sim (which comes with a £30 Amazon voucher) it could be a good deal, the Sim is a 12 month contract

Swapped to GiffGaff last week after a run in with EE. Very happy so far - £10 a month for unlimited texts, 1gb data and 500 minutes which is more than enough for me. 4G at no extra cost although signal is a bit patchy in my area.

BT 20g, unlimited texts, unlimited calls. £20 with the discount for being a broadband customer. My Mum doesn't have broadband so use a bit of allowance letting her watch YouTube and Iplayer. I live rurally and the signal is adequate wherever I go. The Btwifi hotspots are good to.

Have been with O2 18 years (since they were whatever they were before O2) but while I was overseas I went to PAYG and since I've been back its costing me a fortune - 30p/min to make calls and data is expensive too. Coverage in our new house is non-existent so I have just taken the leap to EE. Seems to be good coverage in our area and cheap for what you get (especially with cash back deal). That said, mobile phones direct have already messed up the order and I'm waiting to see if the nice chap from customer services had managed to fix it - wish me luck!

EE. My house is in a mobile blackspot but get wifi calling. EE only network I do get signal with in the village. Was Tesco (O2) when we moved here but nothing.

EE because they took over Orange
Orange because it's the only network that works here.

Tesco, they are O2 network which is good in the area. AlthoughEE is better for 4G but more expensive.

There's a map on the of on website which shows the provides with best 3G/4G signal and calling signal.

I've just purchased the new iPhone SE which I really like and pay £10 a month sim only. Plus Clubcard points and no contract so can move at any time if needed

Tesco as only O2 has any chance of signal here, and that only outdoors. (Don't care, I have a landline)

if you do have a whizzyphone and a BT landline, there are some good deals for BT mobile at the moment if you can use EE. In fact so good that it is worth it even if you don't use the data.
