Posting here for traffic but want to keep details sparse to avoid the person in question recognised.

I am in a place where children make beauty products (don't mention the place please) at a birthday party.

One of the party hosts from the company is wearing a very heavy black dress and a headscarf.

She smells of sweat, maybe the sweat is in her clothes I don't know.

Should I say something to the manager?

Please let me know and please don't mention the place I don't want it to be identifiable.

Because it is the heavy clothes that cause the sweat (I think). I would say to check her personal hygiene

Are you there for a party? If so then no. Surely you can just avoid for an hour?

I don't think you should say anything. Tbh her manager probably already knows if they can smell it.

Well if you're paying for a service the staff shouldn't stink.

What she is wearing is irrelevant OP - if she smells, she smells. If that's something you want to complain about, then complain.

So they can tell her? They already know. They can smell her too.

But if you feel you must say something, wait til everyone has gone and privately.

I am thankfully only here for a party. I couldn't work on a regular basis with someone who smells as I am very sensitive to smells...

If she's that bad, surely the other staff will be able to smell it to. I'd just keep away from her and get back to enjoying the party.

clothes etc are irrelevant. staff should always be clean. don't care if they are wearing rags. but they should be clean and not stinking

She is the main host for our party. We can't keep away, she is making the soaps with my daughter and her friends. If I had just passed her by I wouldn't care honestly.

Yanbu definitely complain. You didn't pay for someone to stink up the place, especially a children's party.

I would complain and I would complain now, not after the event once the proof has gone. You are paying for a service that has been compromised by a lack of personal hygiene. It's minging and I would absolutely insist on a significant price reduction. Eeugh.

Is it affecting your child's enjoyment of the party?

You will be there for what 2 hours? Get off your phone and enjoy your child's party.

I'd make a comment to the manager, but not necessarily a complaint. Since you've now said the product, which clearly involves scent, then an intrusive smell of sweat is going to be rather offputting and spoil the overall experience, I would have thought.

I used to work with someone who had a sweaty clothes issue (nylon shirts) - ended up having to photocopy the page in the Code of Conduct that specified dress should be clean and decent - it worked though, he got new shirts and stopped stinking the place up!

Yes, definitely mention, it is not unreasonable to expect to enjoy a party you pay for without the unpleasantness of a member of staffs BO at close quarters.

But do it kindly and discretely.
