to say something to the manager?

Posting here for traffic but want to keep details sparse to avoid the person in question recognised.

I am in a place where children make beauty products (don't mention the place please) at a birthday party.

One of the party hosts from the company is wearing a very heavy black dress and a headscarf.

She smells of sweat, maybe the sweat is in her clothes I don't know.

Should I say something to the manager?

Please let me know and please don't mention the place I don't want it to be identifiable.

Thanks!

I would have been on board with complaining if you hadn't mentioned the headscarf. But that just makes me think you're not comfortable with her for other reasons.

nanetterose · 06/03/2016 16:46

I think you suspect her outfit is not a breathable fabric. You don't need to say that though.

like others have said, just tell the manager.

If you think about it, her actual attire isn't really relevant.

You could smell quite nasty in an unwashed Laura Ashley smock!

silverduck · 06/03/2016 17:54

TiggyD why did you mention the name of the place when the OP specifically asked people not to - I presume so that the thread doesn't appear on google and then potentially allow a bigger audience to identify the poor girl??

emanuela · 06/03/2016 18:02

The reason why I asked not to mention the name of the place was that if someone googled this thread would not come up. I don't believe in humiliation for the sake of it. Will now ask to delete the thread.

People need guidance sometimes not public humiliation.

If this thread gets deleted on that basis then it really will be the beginning of the end for this site.

originalmavis · 06/03/2016 18:18

Can't mnhq bleep out the possible shop name?

LittleRedSparke · 06/03/2016 18:19

I also think the don't 'mention the place' hysterical and over the top

ilovesooty · 06/03/2016 18:32

This thread shouldn't be deleted on that basis in my opinion.

ilovesooty · 06/03/2016 18:33

And that comment about people needing guidance seemed pretty patronising to me.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 06/03/2016 18:39

Don't worry about the place name. Their SEO is pretty good, it's unlikely to show up for any generic search terms.

I'd mention it, nicely, because it must be a bad smell if you can smell it over the soaps and because if I smelt at work, I'd want to be told so I could do something about it. I think some people genuinely can't smell themselves. It's nicer to be politely told by your manager than to find out from a nasty comment or a tactless child...

NerrSnerr · 06/03/2016 18:42

There are loads of the shop that cannot be named on the high street so it's extremely unlikely the person will be outed and humiliated.

NerrSnerr · 06/03/2016 18:43

And if you didn't want it to be identifiable you wouldn't have mentioned her clothes!!
