Anyone had a dental implant and if so how much did it cost?

Having an absolute nightmare with my teeth since the start of my tmj and tooth grinding about 2 years ago. I now have a suspected cracked front tooth and may need it removed. I'm only in my 20s so I'm really upset and don't fancy the idea of a denture or ruining other teeth for a bridge.
Anyone had a successful implant in the UK and how much did it cost?

I am due to have one and it's going to cost £2500.

Going rate around here (W Yorkshire) is £2.5-3k depending on complexity.

I had one 2 years ago. Front tooth, it looks incredibly natural and cost.me £360.

I had one 4 years ago. It cost £1000 (and still does at my dentist). I feel the need to warn you that it was the most painful thing I've ever had done. I looked like I'd done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson and then I had to wait about 4 weeks to let the screws set before the implant could be put in.

£2.5k including a temporary denture to stop the adjacent teeth drifting.

Lots of visits, no pain at all. Very pleased indeed with the result. Premolar.

Wow massive price differences there I wonder why? Captaincrunch was yours done by a private dentist for £360?
Maidupmum I was hoping for something around that price really, I'm not really too worried about the pain, missing a front tooth doesn't feel like an option.

No I'm an nhs patient op. The work was done with exactly the same integrity and procedure as a private patient. I'm over the moon with it. Same dentist did a veneer on left front tooth for £100. I realise I am very fortunate.

£360 sounds suspiciously cheap. Was that in the UK. I'm surprised that so many people are having implants seeing as the going rate is £2-3k. People are paying £20k+ for a whole mouth full

Yes, just one tooth. It's obscenely expensive imo and it's going to take months.

£360 for an implant? Really? Even going to Poland is more expensive than that!

I visit dental a dental implant centre this week there around £1500 per tooth,but cheaper the more you have.

Captain Can any NHS patient have an implant done at that price if they need one doing?

It's not "suspicious". I live in Scotland and my dentist is fabulous, he has private patients too. Love how on mn you're considered to be probably lying if you have a different experience from the herd.

I got the implant because the tooth was dead and root canal was unsuccessful.

I've got 4 of them and I did them two by two. Each couple of teeth took around 6 months. I think the price was around £2000+ per teeth.

Not very painful in my case (fantastic dentist), just uncomfortable sometimes.

£360£ is very cheap for an implant but could it have been a crown with a post put into natural root?

I am a dentist though l do not do implants l refer l would say a reasonable cost for a single tooth would be £2200-3000k

Broken down as approx 50-100 for consultation £100-200 for ct scan you can't do an implant properly with just xrays you need 3D picture £1500 -2000 for the implant and £500-800 for the crown on the implant

It's possible I have the crown and post thing you describe teacup but it looks brilliant, incredibly natural and I'm very happy with it.

In central London it is 5k. I decided to postpone for as long as possible (other tooth is still there, it is a baby tooth long story). You can pay in instalments over 2 years at 0% finance.

I think I will wait until I really can't wait any longer. 5 grand would break the bank at the moment.

Can I suggest a bridge instead? Much cheaper...

Just to say, bridges won't necessarily ruin your other teeth - I have a Maryland bridge and it's just glued to the ones next to it - no drilling or anything. My adult laterals never grew, that's why I have one.

I work in Scotland £100 is about right for NHS veneer but generally implants not available on NHS there is no fee for the item on Scottish scale you might get one on the NHS if you lost tooth because of non accidental trauma, reconstruction after cancer or a young adult that has congenitally missing teeth £360 is not the NHS fee for anything in Scotland l know the fees as my practice is 95%nhs, it could be the cumulative fee for root treatment and a post crown as Max NHS fee is £384

£5000 for two front teeth after I was kicked in the face by a horse. Fantastic job done over about 16mths by a very good specialist in Belfast.

I have 3!! It wasn't painful during the work but one hour afterwards I was in the most horrific pain. I remember squirming around in bed, nothing would calm it. It was all totally worth it. You will have to wear a denture for a few months in between the screws being out in and the implant being put on. I often see deals on implants on groupon but personally I would only go to someone recommended, preferably by a dentist. It is serious work and not worth scrimping on.
