To think the 'Disrespect NoBody' ad campaign is horribly sexist?

Not sure if this has already been discussed but has anybody else seen the 'Disrespect NoBody' TV adverts that are supposedly raising awareness for healthy relationships and domestic violence?

Every single scenario in the advert is targeted at men abusing women whether it be physically or emotionally. Y'know because men are never victims?

Abortion allows women to kill a mans unborn child without even telling him simply because she changed her mind. I'm not saying abortion isn't sometimes an option for women, when a baby is brought about trough rape, I think the women should have a choice, just not when she 'changes her mind'.

well then she doesn't have a choice then does she Hmm you know to have full autonomy over her own body

JassyRadlett · 03/03/2016 11:29

Rape can't be done by women? Fuck me.. You people are severely fucking stupid aren't you. Let me run an example by you, a woman has sex with a 13 year old boy. He has sexually confused and was erect even though he told her he didn't want sex and wasn't ready for it, she forced him physically into it. This isn't rape? You disgust me.

Under the Sex Offences Act 2003 (you were talking about law), no, it is not classified as rape. The Act defines rape as follows:

person (A) commits an offence if—
(a)he intentionally penetrates the vagina, anus or mouth of another person (B) with his penis,
(b)B does not consent to the penetration, and
(c)A does not reasonably believe that B consents.
(2)

The hypothetical situation you describe is deplorable. However, it is specifically dealt with in the Act through the offence of sexual activity with a child as well as the offence of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent. The latter, in the circumstances you describe, carries the same penalty in law as rape.

Let's fact check before describing people as severely fucking stupid, eh? They might just know more about the law than you do.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 03/03/2016 11:32

Do you call your wife or girlfriend "severely fucking stupid" if she disagrees with you zigoow? Or even (god forbid) points out that you are wrong about something?

Just saying.

Helmetbymidnight · 03/03/2016 11:35

I think the women should have a choice, just not when she 'changes her mind'.

Oh right. I see, a choice but not a choice.

Makes perfect sense, yes.

OhShutUpThomas · 03/03/2016 11:37

So which is it? Women have a choice about their bodies, or they don't?

And you still haven't said what's so unfair about MARITAL separation law?

Rape can't be done by women? Fuck me.. You people are severely fucking stupid aren't you

Are you familiar with UK law?

So men have to make their own refuges to help other men?

Well who THE FUCK do you think makes women's refuges?
Yes, of course men should make their own refuges, if they need them. We can't do fucking everything for you.

Grow some empathy.

Stop, my sides....😂😂

Does it make you feel more of a man to come and shout abuse at women discussing DA?

Or do you actually think you're proving a really clever point that we're all too stupid to grasp?

'OF COURSE MEN ARENT ABUSIVE YOU FUCKING LYING HARPIES, FUCK OFF YOU FUCKING IDIOTS STOP SAYING MEN ARE ABUSIVE OK!?'

OhShutUpThomas · 03/03/2016 11:38

Do you call your wife or girlfriend...

Don't be daft under 😂

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2016 11:40

saying that martial divorce favours women does not mean that I believe women shouldn't be allowed to diverse their spouse

Are you doing this deliberately for comic effect zigoow? It reminds me of .

That had a man who didn't let his ignorance stand in the way of giving a woman his opinion as well.

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2016 11:44

Is trough rape some kind of niche perversion involving farmyard animals that I don't want to Google?

You really are the gift that keeps on giving Zigoow

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 03/03/2016 11:48

Just to pick apart another bit... "the women should have a choice, just not when she 'changes her mind'."

So what should actually happen (in your opinion) when she 'changes her mind' then, if she shouldnt be entitled to exercise her choice to abort the pregnancy?

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 03/03/2016 11:49

Zigoow before you call people 'severely fucking stupid', you might want to check the legal definition of rape. You wouldn't want to embarrass yourself.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 03/03/2016 11:50

I might like to diverse my spouse. What do you think it involves?

I'll ask DH about it tonight, I'm obvs too severely fucking stupid to know Wink and he's a man so... although he's never felt the need to abuse me for disagreeing with him. Guess that's why we're still married.

BeyondTellsEveryoneRealFacts · 03/03/2016 11:51

So, man wants baby, woman willy nilly changes her mind and now fancies an abortion instead. What are we gonna do with woman, sedate her for six months to use her as an incubator?

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2016 11:51

I didn't spell nice 'wrong' Zigoow. Naice is a joke on MN, as Under pointed out. Hang around. You'll learn some other stuff from us.

Anyway, if we're going to be pedantic, it's 'wrongly'.

I really need to get on with some work, but it's so much fun playing with you.

OddBoots · 03/03/2016 11:52

"So what should actually happen (in your opinion) when she 'changes her mind' then, if she shouldnt be entitled to exercise her choice to abort the pregnancy?" - Maybe just give it to the man to gestate instead Beyond. Wink

limitedperiodonly · 03/03/2016 11:56

My spouse is always up for a bit of diversion Under. At least I think that's what he said...

BoulevardOfBrokenSleep · 03/03/2016 12:06

I tell you what though, this thread has really opened my eyes as to how much SOME men hate women.

Can't really believe that zigoow was so keen to tell us how much we disgust him, he didn't pause for a second to think maybe we didn't write the rape laws. And didn't even bother to find out what those laws are. Nope, just jump in, slag us all off because YOUR opinion is what matters most. Not those uppity bitches.

I'm now going to be looking at my male friends and colleagues, wondering if they're hiding a similar tirade of misogyny behind their polite smiles and chat.
So cheers for that guys, I'd managed to stay away from this sort of stuff on the internet till now.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a karate class to go to. I'll be extra focussed today....

Sorry boulevard Flowers you cant just go back once you have the lightbulb moment either :(

Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/03/2016 12:23

I tell you what though, this thread has really opened my eyes as to how much SOME men hate women.

Crazy isn't it.
Let's verbably abuse while claiming we don't abuse....

Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/03/2016 12:27

I now fully understand why i was totally ripped apart on a similar thread in the past, even though it was unwarranted i can completely see why it happened.

SunsetSinger · 03/03/2016 12:30

Good grief. Could you men all get together and find someone that can actually construct a coherent sentence? It's getting embarrassing.

OhShutUpThomas · 03/03/2016 12:39

What are the odds that zigoow completely ignores all the points we've made about his post, then comes back in a few hours with another unintelligible tirade of abuse, with an AND ANOTHER THING.... air about it?

PosieReturningParker · 03/03/2016 12:53

What about the men?

I'd like an answer.

What about the men that cat call?
What about the men that stalk?
What about the men that rape?
What about the men that harass?
What about the men that sexually assault?
What about the men that physically abuse?
What about the men that financially control?
What about the men that marry child brides?
What about the men that use prostitutes?
What about the men that want everything to be about them?
What about the men that overlook women in the workplace?
What about the men that don't engage with women in the board room?
What about the men that want to take over every fucking thread that's about women?

So let's talk about those men and their entitlement.

PosieReturningParker · 03/03/2016 12:54

And a transwomen who says she is anti feminist is a fucking laugh, they could only be a feminist ally at best anyway.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 03/03/2016 12:55

I've always thought of as a sort of MRA anthem. It's my empathic side coming through.

Added bonus is David Tennant dancing to it here. Be more like Tennant, guys. He's nice.
