with his talk of wanting a fairer more equal society??

So that's why thousands of people are going to be thrown into poverty come April, disabled people have been disadvantaged by the welfare cuts, the bedroom tax has dislocated loads of people, millions are priced out of the property market, food bank usage is at an all time high and the "living wage" is a bare faced lie Angry!

Also where was the detail in his conference speech as to how he is going to achieve this equal society?

equality terrifies them, they want us to know our place...and stay in it.

The Resolution Foundation says that the Tories' welfare cuts mean that 200,000 more working families will be living in poverty by 2020.

We could hardly hear the news last night for DH & I shouting at the telly.
I think that this party conference is letting their true colours shine.
I don't support any particular politics (I find a lot of it very frustrating at the moment) but I am appalled at the policies and the rhetoric coming out of the Tory conference. The language in particular is just downright nasty and manipulative.

Yes the line about Corbyn apparently not caring about 9/11 really made me Angry and he got a standing ovation for it.

Do you think they actually believe their own rhetoric? Do they think the electorate is going to think we are a more "equal society" just because they have said they are going to make it one? I think the level is speech making is low in general - Oxbridge etc. .. but very basic ideas manipulation

Also they are unbearably self-congratulatory and back slapping.

The "Corbyn thinks Bin Laden's death was a tragedy" ... head tilt... puzzled look "Yes!" line was the stand out play acted killer for me.

It had the look of a well rehearsed, in front of the bedroom mirror, playground bully tactic. Not defending Corbyn but, when any politician uses their party conference to reference and put down the scariest of opposition you know that they are focussing on the wrong thing. That the PM seemed to expect a good laugh, and got barely an indrawn breath, says a lot about how he is planning his last few years.

I may go dig a hole and pull the lid over me. Set the alarm for 2020 and see what it is like then!

If that was anything to go by we will have an all out American style "I told you three times" aggrandisation of the individual pissfest!

Well we love him. We can buy our 2 bed flat next year and get our much needed house when we sell. Yes I'm going to get the "I'm alright jack" thrown at us but its going to really help my family.

Supports the workers??!! Removing powers from unions, zero hours contracts, removing tax credits, freezing public sector pay, how exactly does Cameron support the workers?

Oh you mean increasing MP's wages disproportionately, allowing bankers huge bonuses oh right I get you now, his type eh?

Love these I am ok so sod the rest.
You should have come into the disability charity that I work at the day after they got back in and seen the devastation, crying and all out fear from all our members. We have had that every day, parents of disabiled children crying and not knowing how they are going to make ends met. We can refer people to food bank and have you any idea of the look in someone's eye when they have to ask for that referral, pride totally gone.
And yep you can buy you council flat and sell it for an inflated price but I take it you needed council assistance at some stage so you could have a flat of your own but now you dont need that assistance any more lets just sod anyone else who might shall we
Also thousands more children in poverty since they got in
Many more WORKING people in poverty and many more being plunged into poverty come April.
The independent living find for disabiled people scrapped so many disabiled people can no longer love in their own homes.
Removed so many rights for WORKERS and we all know they are next looking at the right to strike.
They are now attacking access to work which supports many disabiled WORKERS in work as without it they would not be able to work.
I have put the WORKERS in capitals due to one poster saying it was a great speech for workers!!!!

And not to mention we now owe twice as much now then we did under a labour government.
But hey what's not to love right

Ha ha ha! Any particular workers you have in mind? Those on zero hours contracts? Those who have to do overtime for no extra pay? Those on silly low wages who are getting tax credits cut?

Supports the workers how?????? I'm an NHS nurse in London. To be able to buy one of his 'affordable' homes here I would need a 300% rise in my wages. I barely got 1%. He is trying to dismantle the union that I really feel is essential. (bullying is rife in the NHS, but the bullies tend to back off if they know you have union support.)
I'm getting a big fat tax credits cut this year but I'm guessing that the cost of living will continue to go up.
I would love to give Cameron a kick in the balls. Angry

Oh come on this is just the same as Corbyn wanting to return to the 70's. It's political rhetoric for anyone that actually listens to what they say and cares.

Party conferences are all about telling the people that are at them what they want to hear, nothing more, nothing less. The fact that key speeches are broadcast means they have a chance to have a clip repeated on the news to the masses. Those that like them will agree, those that don't will think them crass.

He probably does want an equal society (in theory) as did Blair and Brown, yet the wealth gap grew under them too. Lets be blunt, the Tories would like nothing more than to be able to get rid of welfare spending, and if your honest with yourself so would you. I don't want to pay to support others, I want them to be able to earn enough in their own right without having to rely on the state for houndouts.

I abhorr working tax credit. Employers should pay enough so that people don't need it. I don't want people earning more for not working than working, but until we have full employment and companies with limitless finances to pay those wages we have to put up with it.

supports workers - I work - always have done - I'm losing £1000 in tax credits - plus, as a public sector worker, my pay is frozen and my service has just been cut again so 8 more staff just lost their jobs (some have been working here for 22 years :( )

they don't give a stuff about ordinary people - if they did they would stop all this guff about 'home ownership' for the few rich enough to buy an 'affordable home' and concentrate on dealing with social housing, decent tenancies and rents and decent jobs with good pay and proper contracts
