to not see a problem with men using robots for sex

Yes, its a bit sad and perverted, but I can't see how a glorified sex doll hurts anyone. I would be horrified if a sex doll looked like a child. However if a really sad sexually frustrated man masturbates with a sex doll that looks like a grown adult, no one is getting hurt.

I don't think it that robots will be sophisicated enough to replace a real spouse in my life time.

what about women, dont we get sexbots too?

Tootsiepops · 15/09/2015 11:05

Yeah - where are our sexbots?!

suzannefollowmyvan · 15/09/2015 11:08

I want a fully functioning handsome Greek God style robot??

TenForward82 · 15/09/2015 11:09

Because women are not like robots, we aren't passive and lie there and let men do what they want without answering back. The danger is that they start to see real women that way, and it makes it even harder for them to interact with a real woman, or view real woman as a nuisance for daring to disagree. If they need sexual relief, why does it have to look like a woman? A fleshlight will do just fine.

ImperialBlether · 15/09/2015 11:11

There was a really horrible scene in Humans - did anyone see it? A brothel was staffed by robots, although one was clearly (to us) human. The way she was treated by a customer was really horrible.

If men are having sex with robots who look like women they won't have to treat them with any humanity; this has to have an impact on all of our lives.

All mners know that spouses don't pull their weight...more cost than benefit.
A sex bot and a domestic engineer / childcare bot??
Everything is covered :o ??

Did you lose your dildo? Let's not forget that the vibrator was the fifth commercially available electric appliance.

horsewalksintoabar · 15/09/2015 11:18

A hoover with a wig's good enough for my man. AIBU to not give a monkey's?

ijustwannadance · 15/09/2015 11:22

Yeah, reality is probably more like shagging brian from conused.com than the woman off humans.
Just reminds me of howard from big bang theory getting his bits stuck it the robot hand.

ReallyTired · 15/09/2015 11:23

"I want a fully functioning handsome Greek God style robot??"

lol... I suppose there is no reason why there can't be sexbots for women. The sexbots could be put together like lego depending on whether you want sex with a man or a woman.

"If men are having sex with robots who look like women they won't have to treat them with any humanity; this has to have an impact on all of our lives."

All you have to do is go on the relationships board to see that there are plenty of men who are vile without having sexbots. Prehaps if these men kept their relationships to electronics then fewer people would get hurt.

Agree with Imperial and Ten
There could be a lot of negative implications for women.

Even if it could be proven to reduce child sex abuse in real life ?

Would it encourage or 'quench' the appetite for sex with children?
Very tricky questions, no easy answers or consensus on that matter ??

ReallyTired · 15/09/2015 11:33

"Even if it could be proven to reduce child sex abuse in real life ?"

I think that someone having sex with a robot child would normalise child abuse. Its hard to explain my revoltion. I feel that someone who who even can comtempate having sex with a child needs help to repress such feelings. I find it ahhorent the idea of a person having sex with a robotic sheep as well. Prehaps the reason is that that neither a sheep nor a child cannot consent to sex.

The idea of having sex with a grown man or woman is OK, provided that its consentual. A dirty man who wants sex with a 19 year old super model is not wanting anything illegal as such. The only problem is that it is never going to happen because a 19 year old supermodel is not likely to want to have sex with him.

Unless she is a robot.

I think you have just underscored not only the inevitability of robots for sex, but a new area of commerce where celebrities can license their likeness for use with sex robots. In fact, on a semi-serious note, I wonder if Hollywood agents aren't already sneaking in clauses about image rights for use with robots.

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 15/09/2015 11:41

I'd be worried about cleanliness. Germs and stuff.

Besides, spunk is sticky.

Sex with robot dolls is fine but the cleaning products would need to be included as I really can't see most bothering to buy them.

Hahaha!! Grin

ofshoes · 15/09/2015 11:44

Virtual Reality sex is probably more likely in our life time than sex bots to be honest. I'm sure there are any amount of perverts already working on it

suzannefollowmyvan · 15/09/2015 11:48

humanoid robots = massive can of worms

bettyberry · 15/09/2015 11:48

I have no issue with sex toys (I have a few!) but I do have an issue with the disembodied sex toys for men that are kicking around for example fleshlight with just a mouth, vagina or anus. Which are bad! Even my OH was a bit 'eww' at what was basically 2 butt cheeks and a hole and reduced a woman down to 'parts' for use.

I personally don't like realistic dildos either so its not a one sided thing.

I'm in two minds about the sex dolls though. Part of me is thinking, great they fill a void for men who cannot find a woman due to sexual dysfunction/anxiety and performance anxiety/poor social skills etc and will keep them ticking over so to speak but feel they could probably benefit with spending that money (some of these dolls sell for thousands) on a therapist or help with whatever barriers are stopping them from forming those relationships.

There was (i think channel 4) documentary on sex dolls. Its available on youtube and might give you a different insight into the whole sex doll thing from some of the men that use them. You can see that some of the guys really are desperate for the intimacy from a relationship but struggle to form them.

It is very interesting that more men that women use the dolls but more women use toys (dildos and vibrators) more than men.

bettyberry · 15/09/2015 11:51

LurkingHusband pornstars already do this with their genitalia. I can get a lifelike dildo of any male pornstar if I wanted so the leap to celebs really isn't that far question is would they want to do it.
