To worry about my son starting boarding school today?

My eldest son has gone off to boarding school today for the first time.
AIBU to be a bit worried about him?

I went to the school myself as did my husband and our entire family... I know my son will love it and get the best magical education around but I'll miss himSad.

JK Rowling even wished him good luck!

Sigh at firefly.

And, honestly, Ginny - he'll be fine, as you say, magical times await. Smile

Yes, but first response sets the tone for the thread, and others could have come along and enjoyed it. Just as essy to have clicked on and shrugged and clicked off.

Can you send a Owl to any of the teachers who were your teachers and ask how he is settling in?

I sometimes think I'm the only person in the world to think Harry Potter is a pile of steaming horse shite Blush

I've tried more than once to get into it (mainly for the kids) but I just cant.

Well, Neville Longbottom will be able to let you know how he's getting on, surely. I know he's teaching there, now.

My younger son's Godfather is a teacher there so I could owl him for an update as long he promises not to tell James.

Hellocampers JKR said it was James this year! Blush

OP, can I ask you whether you find these threads funny? I just can't see that they are, but wonder why you do.
