To worry about my son starting boarding school today?

My eldest son has gone off to boarding school today for the first time.
AIBU to be a bit worried about him?

I went to the school myself as did my husband and our entire family... I know my son will love it and get the best magical education around but I'll miss himSad.

JK Rowling even wished him good luck!

Has he been sorted into slytherin yet Ginny?
He's due a howler I reckon.

morningtoncrescent62 if the entire family hadn't insisted on coming to see James off, it might not have been quite so busy!

I know he'll be fine, he's in Gryffindor, same as his cousins Victorie, Dominique and Fred to name but a few!

Trills, all school fees are paid by the ministry. No elitism here.

The last Ofsted report was pretty damning - category 4 (inadequate) for safeguarding. Obviously far too many trolls and dragons - and then with the battle too many deaths even for wizarding standards.

You didn't consider Beauxbatons? Doesn't he have some cousins there?

MrsGinnyPotter · 02/09/2015 12:14

No Fleur and Bill chose to send their girls to Hogwarts... Louis will be going there too when he's old enough :)

Oh well - I expect they've tightened things up a bit and at least there shouldn't be another battle. I suppose a lot depends on who is teaching DaDA at the moment. Wink

I sometimes think I'm the only person in the world to think Harry Potter is a pile of steaming horse shite

No, you're not alone. I have come across quite a few people who don't rate the books and don't think Rowling is 'all that' as a writer.

But are the books really 'steaming horse shite' or do they just not appeal to you? I mean, I have hated lots of books in my time but that doesn't necessarily make them shit books.

I certainly hope so Miao
