To ask your opinion on this very important site issue?

So mumsnet have recently changed the option to highlight both OP's and your own posts in a specific colour. They claim that only 8% of posters use this feature and hence it's unneeded.

I and some others disagree So please if you would, can you answer the following questions for me? Either to protest the change or to support MNHQ, I don't mind, just interested in this 8%. Copy and paste your answer.

Do you use the highlight posts feature?

Yes, I tried it, but I didn't like it.
Yes, I use it on the desktop and mobile site but not the app.

Not interested in a highlighting option.
Only use the app and it's not an option on there.

Yes I use it. Please don't get rid of it MN! Perhaps the reason more people don't use it is because they don't know about it, not that that they don't want it (I found out about it myself from someone mentioning it on a thread). So perhaps instead getting rid of it, you could publicise it a bit more?

Is it going to default to highlighting op's posts? Because it should. Might cut down on the snarkploppers.

I'm struggling to understand why MN HQ would withdraw a useful feature I mean what is the point? It's something that increases the usability of the site!

It reminds me of the other big controversy which is that they bagel company has announced on their packaging that they are no longer cutting their bagels in half ....uum riiiiiight so you did something to make life really convenient but now have arbitrarily stopped helping us but have couched it as "our customers have told us they don't want bagels cut in half so we are listening to you"

i wasn't aware of that feature but had I known about it I woud have used it! Surey the best way to deal with this and to get them to reinstall it is to report the thread and ask MNHQ directly?

Yes I use it and def want it to remain. On a long thread it is impossible to keep up with updates without it!!
