To ask your opinion on this very important site issue?

So mumsnet have recently changed the option to highlight both OP's and your own posts in a specific colour. They claim that only 8% of posters use this feature and hence it's unneeded.

I and some others disagree So please if you would, can you answer the following questions for me? Either to protest the change or to support MNHQ, I don't mind, just interested in this 8%. Copy and paste your answer.

Do you use the highlight posts feature?

If yes
Yes, I tried it, but I didn't like it.
Yes, I use it on the desktop and mobile site but not the app.
Yes and I would like to keep it.

No, I didn't know that you could do this.
Not interested in a highlighting option.
Only use the app and it's not an option on there.

It seems fairly straightforward.

To remove 99% of the problems that people have, you give the OP and Poster's posts separate colours and you change the defaults away from that ruddy green - which is surprisingly difficult to read text against if you have less than perfect sight like me. Something paler would be best.

And that's you (largely) sorted.

I'll leave the question of whether MN are phasing out all the styles apart from MN New to others to pursue.

Yes, definitely keep! I only found out about it fairly recently after seeing someone else mention it, it should be a default thing (would help people not miss out on OPs updates!)

Yes and I would definitely like to keep it. I probably wouldn't log on if the option went since logging on means the OP's posts are highlighted. It also then means I probably wouldn't post since rarely have something so vital to say that I'd log in especially to do so. Logging in for highlighted posts means posting myself is quickly done if I want to.

How often do you see people posting after missing an update? Highlighting the op's posts cuts down on that massively.

Having my posts highlighted is an excellent bookmark to where I've read too.

Why you messing MN?!? Surely that tiny bit of functionality doesn't take up much whatever techy thing it is you're worrying about?

Our Tech team are currently working on the colour issues - this will mean that your own posts and the OPs posts will be different colours again.

They will also be changing the colours so they will be more accessible for visually impaired users.
