to think strapless wedding dresses aren't very flattering.

They look so unflattering on most people, especially if the top bit is too tight, resulting in any back and side fat 'spilling' up and over the sides of the dress.
You see Brides spending the whole day hoicking the dress up every five minutes - not a good look on your wedding day surely.

Anybody else think that the more traditional dresses look better?

pilates I love the shoulder detailing and the beadwork. And the colour.

I'm quite small in the bust area and petite so I can't get away with a full length, strapless affair.

BlowingThroughTheJasmineinMyMi · 19/06/2015 16:07

op, going to cause a few ruffles here, but I just think the hoiking up is annoying and they are just boring .

Whattonamemyselfnow · 19/06/2015 16:08

I had one although it wasn't my initial intention. I am/was skinny and my arms were ok...
It think it's all about the arms

good for your sister I had similar issues, far too fat for conventional styles but 50's looked much better.

MrsNextDoor · 19/06/2015 16:12

I'm also starting to hate the sight of 50s style tea dresses! Boring!

pilates · 19/06/2015 16:13

Yes it's stunning, you wouldn't need any jewellery with that dress, just may be some earrings.

Enormouse · 19/06/2015 16:15

I'll let Dp know he has to propose so I can get to wear that dress Grin

I think it's around the $300 mark from etsy so it won't break the bank either.

BlowingThroughTheJasmineinMyMi · 19/06/2015 16:15

wow only $300??????????????????????????????

Enorm is it really?? It's gorgeous! Where's that seller!? What's the shop called please?

Enormouse · 19/06/2015 16:23

Here's the pinterest link

www.pinterest.com/pin/497577458803953139/ it's from a shop called LoveBirdsBakery on etsy. But I think it's sold but if you can find the seller you could probably get a custom order.

MrsNextDoor · 19/06/2015 16:23

It's not from Etsy! It's by Anna Campbell according to the Google search of image I just did...I'm sure it's a lot more than 300!

MrsNextDoor · 19/06/2015 16:24

www.annacampbell.com.au/made-to-measure/gossamer-collection

Here...it's from the made to measure collection.

MrsNextDoor · 19/06/2015 16:25

No...Enormous that Pinterest link is just bait. the image is from the Anna Campbell collection and will be a lot more than 300 dollars.

Enormouse · 19/06/2015 16:27

Oh thanks for that Mrs, that explains the broken link. [Durr brained emoticon]

I'll cancel the proposal so I can save up for it.

Enormouse · 19/06/2015 16:31

God, that website's nice.

MissBattleaxe · 19/06/2015 16:40

Well I don't like them because they all look the same to everyone except the bride. I got married nearly ten years ago and even then there 98% strapless dresses in the shop and about two with sleeves.

I'm also old fashioned and I think that strapless is a bit too revealing for a wedding dress, but that's me for you (hoiks bosom in Triumph Doreen Bra)

I'm hoping this fad will pass because it's hard to get excited about a bride who is wearing the millionth strapless wedding dress. Very few can pull it off really well.

Even though I'm not fan, the nicest wedding dress I have ever seen was Geri's!

KiteKit · 19/06/2015 17:17

Oh my god that Anna Campbell stuff is incredible! THAT is what a beautiful wedding dress looks like (pretty much all of them on that website) If I had known about her I would have worn a gown like that, but is a similar in feel to what I did wear, the Alice Temperley silk top had a very beautiful back to it

MrsNextDoor · 19/06/2015 17:21

They're seriously gorgeous frocks aren't they? They're not actually THAT expensive given the beauty...$3000 aussie dollars for one I like which works out at about 1500...ok that's loads of money isn't it? Sad I'm in fantasy land Grin

FeijoaSundae · 19/06/2015 20:07

Those dresses are sublime.

Bambambini · 19/06/2015 20:48

Just looked at Geri Halliwell's dress, she looked lovely.

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 22:03

Ooooo! That website has exquisite dresses! Remember Fearne Massive Nostrils Cotton's dress? Delicious.

balletnotlacrosse · 19/06/2015 23:12

Thankfully this fashion seems to be drawing towards a close. Strapless dresses are find as ballgowns, but as wedding dresses they just look a bit cheap and ubiquitous. There is nothing elegant and romantic about them, which to be honest reflects a lot of weddings nowadays.
