To wear a bikini with a noticeable bump?

I'm currently pregnant and have booked a holiday in August with a friend. I'd love to wear a bikini as I'm not used to one-piece swimming costumes! Problem is many people seem to think that you should only show your belly off if it's as flat as a pancake!

YANBU. Wear it with pride.

Sansfards · 17/06/2015 19:13

That's not even slightly unreasonable, have a brilliant break

Bishopston · 17/06/2015 19:13

Thanks Orange - think I will do! :)

Where whatever you are comfortable in. Enjoy your holiday - remember sunscreen

Bishopston · 17/06/2015 19:14

Thanks Sansfards - the thought of it is definitely keeping me going atm!

A bikini seems perfect for a baby bump. Absolutely go for it.

SachaF · 17/06/2015 19:15

I think a bikini will be more comfortable with a baby bump than a swimsuit anyway. Please wear away :)

crumblybiscuits · 17/06/2015 19:16

I loved showing off my baby bump when I went swimming. You rock it out!

MagpieCursedTea · 17/06/2015 19:16

Wear it with pride and sunscreen Grin

TychosNose · 17/06/2015 19:17

Yanbu

I wore bikinis whilst pg so I didn't have to waste a fortune on a maternity swimsuit. Plus I loved my bump and wanted to show it off!

I plan to wear a bikini again this summer even though I'm not quite flat as a pancake again yet.

PushAPushPop · 17/06/2015 19:19

Gosh! I went on holiday at 17 weeks when my bump was at that stage where it was neither here nor there, I could have just been "chubby" to strangers IYSWIM!

I'd have loved a proper bump, a real bump!!

Naty1 · 17/06/2015 19:20

I bought a tankini, but mainly as was 8m pg and the top wasnt fitting too well

crumblybiscuits · 17/06/2015 19:20

Also lots of sunscreen as it can make the linea nigra a lot more prominent/stubborn to go away.

myneighbourtotoro2 · 17/06/2015 19:22

No way ! I wore one at 8 months pregnant with ds and didn't think twice about it , go for it.

Bishopston · 17/06/2015 19:23

I'll definitely remember the Sunscreen! By August my bump's going to be quite big so I'm looking forward to showing it off. The friend I'm going with has a 'perfect' figure - whatever - I'll style it out!

I won't wear one fourteen years after DS born! My stomach would scare people FAR more than yours will Smile. Wear and enjoy!

Bishopston · 17/06/2015 19:30

Haha - thanks Purringkitten - it's just that all my pregnancy weight gain has gone straight to my tummy! :(

I have a noticeable bump and wouldn't wear one.

I'm not pregnant though.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 17/06/2015 19:32

Go for it OP. I did with DD2 and have never felt more attractive - it was comfy too.

Kelly1814 · 17/06/2015 19:33

YANBU!!!!

I live in a hot country where I'm in a bikini 11 months of the year. I did exactly the same while pregnant. Why not?

AuntyMag10 · 17/06/2015 19:34

Yanbu, you will look absolutely lovely. Go for it!

Littlef00t · 17/06/2015 19:34

That's the joy of late pregnancy, youre so obviously pregnant no one can possibly expect you to have a flat tum, i loved my pregnant tum and was much more willing to expose it (although didn't as wasn't big during the summer)

sliceofkate · 17/06/2015 19:35

I did! loved it too! I felt great, looked cute in beach style maxi dresses too Smile extra suncream on your tummy though..

Bishopston · 17/06/2015 19:36

Good to know they're comfy Hearts! You'll also be pleased to know that I won't be showering my fb friends with holiday bump pics as have recently come off fb!! (Was planning to do so around 5 years ago!!!)
