To wear a bikini with a noticeable bump?

I'm currently pregnant and have booked a holiday in August with a friend. I'd love to wear a bikini as I'm not used to one-piece swimming costumes! Problem is many people seem to think that you should only show your belly off if it's as flat as a pancake!

I must admit that I don't really like seeing crops tops over pregnant tummies. I'm not suggesting that pregnant women should wear frumpy smock tops, but I just don't think crops tops over a pregnant tummy are a good look.

I see what you mean Bunbaker - I don't like tankinis either.

I personally don't like seeing big bumps in bikinis - no idea why as I have always thought pregnant women look great! So personally I don't want to show off my bump in a bikini and have bought some tankinis for my hols. However I don't think anyone should cover up just because I don't particularly like seeing it - there is no reason why they shouldn't wear a bikini if they are comfortable and happy. My husband thinks bumps in bikinis look great and doesn't know why I want to cover up!

Id definitely wear a bikini with a bump, a one price swimming costume would make a pregnant woman look like a giant tank! I do t think anyone is likely to care tbh

YANBU. Bikinis look great with bumps. You don't have to hold it in!

Everyone's got different ideas about what looks good.

I'm planning to wear a bikini in August at a family barbecue - don't know what some family members are going to make of me baring my then heavily pregnant tummy!- there's no-one else in the family pregnant at the moment I know of.

I love my big belly though - I'd love to be pregnant again next summer!

It's one of these things that would have had people clutching pearls years ago. But when you think of it really why not.

People seemed to be much more conservative then!

No matter how insecure you might feel about your body, there will always be someone who looks worse than you in a bikini! (I'm cringing at the thought of the fat, topless, middle-aged, hairy European women who lets it all hang out - there is one on every beach across the Costa del Sol)

That's not very nice of you.

OP I doubt everyone will be thinking about your bump as much as you are, wear a bikini if you want but don't keep going on about it or they may well have a problem!

A baby bump belly is very different to an obese rolls of fat belly.

Bikini totally fine.

And anyway, even if it were just a fat belly, who cares? Wear what you like.
