to throw daughters skirt and top away

my daughter has bought a skirt and top on ebay it came from china. its totaly see through as in i can see her skin. she says she wants other peoples opions because im just being difficult about what shes wearing which is not true she wears what she wants. only issue i have is this skirt and top and cheap leggings from primark that are also see through.

she will be 18 next month

She is pretty much an adult as long as she is aware, then it is her choice, people may make assumptions regarding her promiscuity though...

At 18 it is up to her what she wants to wear.

She is almost 18 - she can wear what she likes. Skin is not bad. We all have it. Do you have religious/cultural reasons for disliking these clothes?

It's her choice. She's old enough to live alone, she's old enough to choose her clothes. She should probably think twice about wearing see through clothes though, they don't look good but everyone has fashion mistakes in their past!

As others have said, she's nearly an adult and can wear what she wants. However that doesn't mean you shouldn't intervene if the clothes aren't decent. It's just not kind to let anyone go out like that.

Can she wear a vest top under the top and could the skirt be lined?

for how see through it is she may as well not wear anything...im defo not stricked with what she wears i dont tell her what to wear.low cut tops/short skirts/dresses up to her but this dress she may as well walk the street in her underwear.

All you can do is give her your opinion and leave it at that.

Probably not much you can do. At her age she really should be old enough to choose what she wears. You can make an observation, give advice but that's it really.

I suspect she will soon realise that it does not look great and quietly consign it to the back of the cupboard. She may already be a bit disappointed having bought it on line and seen it looks cheap - but pride is stopping her from admitting it.

If she's 18 months you can control what she wears. If she's 18 years you can't. HTH.

I have a 17yo. All her tops are see through. She wears vest tops under them as she is a modest sort.

Or leggings/shorts style pants under the skirt? I think you need to be wary about taking too hard a line. She might choose to leave home, then who knows what she might wear.

Well don't get upset if she starts binning your things too. She's an adult.

She bought the clothes, you have no right to dispose of them. If you must then ask her not to wear them until her birthday. Once she us 18 her choice.
If you want to drive her away carry on.

You can tell her they're see-through but that's all you can do. I have seen lots of people wear see through tops with nice bras under recently, in my opinion it looks fine.

I'm always telling my 18yo she can't wear all those stupid see-thru leggings and tops that show her bra, guess if she takes any notice...! It has to be her choice. I could throw them away but she would buy more I expect.
