To wonder where all the Tory voters are?

All I've seen all day is messages about how disastrous the Tories carry on is.
Personally I don't see the problem (I didn't vote as recently moved house and didn't register in time).
But as far as I can see, Tories increased personal tax allowance so I'm better off and has at least cut the redicilous amount of benefits people are getting, which means I'm worse off as a working single parent but I've been saying for years how crazy it is the amount of money I've been given for getting myself pregnant and having to change my career. I have a much bigger disposable income than couples I know as my rent, council tax and childcare is paid.
However, Tories got most votes. But I'm wondering where they all are as it seems like everyone is against it.

Do you mean in rl or here op?

SwirlyThingAlert · 08/05/2015 22:01

If you mean on here, well they're hardly going to pop up and say hello and state why they voted, are they. If you've been on here today you'll have seen the appalling personal attacks and name calling if anyone dares to have a differing opinion.
Lots will be not willing to take that type of shit.

CaptainAnkles · 08/05/2015 22:01

Wish, you got yourself pregnant? Bloody hell! Sell your story.

IgnoreMeEveryOtherReindeerDoes · 08/05/2015 22:01

You didn't have to accept that crazy amount of money!

I'm going to bite my lip here as a single parent who hasn't been laughing in a crazy amount of money!

Fairenuff · 08/05/2015 22:06

I can't tell if you're being ironic OP but I would guess that mn has a left wing leaning so those tory voters are quietly celebrating elsewhere.

AtSea1979 · 08/05/2015 22:09

Yeah a lot of my single parent friends seem to be struggling but I don't get that. I guess that life. I have friends on similar incomes with different lifestyles. I guess I just manage what I do have better.
Anyway, not really about the money, that's just my view and why I'm slightly puzzled everyone is v unhappy.
Just lurking on fb and here (not so much work but it wasn't really mentioned much there).

OP posts:
MuttonCadet · 08/05/2015 22:09

Very few admitted it in the exit polls, and very few will admit it here.
Sad that MN is so judgemental that people have to stay quiet, but that's life.

MargoReadbetter · 08/05/2015 22:12

Oh, God, is it half-term already?

AtSea1979 · 08/05/2015 22:12

Haha ok I didn't get myself pregnant. I met an idiot and got pregnant, he got to run away from his responsibilities and I got to face mine. It was my judgement call, I take responsibility for that. Sure without working tax credit, I would be struggling. But I guess in some way I feel I should be struggling.

Half term? Confused

Fairenuff · 08/05/2015 22:14

I don't think so Margo, got another two weeks to go yet.

MargoReadbetter · 08/05/2015 22:15

No? Poor effort then.

AtSea1979 · 08/05/2015 22:16

Anyway I'm sure there so much more to the labour/Tory debate than the shake up of the benefit system/labour debts but I don't know enough about it to debate. Just wondered why there wasn't more victory threads/supporters and dozens of threads with people saying what a mess the country will be in etc.

OP posts:
TondelayoSchwarzkopf · 08/05/2015 22:17

They are posting about their million pound houses and 6 figure salaries in several of the 100 - 500+ long threads about how great the Tories are.

HTH totally sincere and not at all goady OP,

WorraLiberty · 08/05/2015 22:18

Perhaps they're just pig sick of talking politics on the internet now

And pig sick of the goady fuckery going on from all sides.

Fairenuff · 08/05/2015 22:18

What are you on about Margo?

BastardGoDarkly · 08/05/2015 22:19

ODFOD

eurochick · 08/05/2015 22:19

MN is unusually left leaning, compared to the average population.

crumpetbutter · 08/05/2015 22:22

Only one in four of those who voted, voted Tory, no?

And only just over half of people voted, so that makes just one in eight total people who voted Tory.

I haven't slept in 48 hours though so that might all be wrong.

piggychops · 08/05/2015 22:24

Doesn't Ed Milliband live in a multi-million pound house?...

Penguinotterfoxbadger · 08/05/2015 22:24

What Bastard said.

grovel · 08/05/2015 22:26

37% voted Tory. 13% voted UKIP. That's 50% to the right of centre.

crumpetbutter · 08/05/2015 22:27

Grovel - 37% of electorate or 37% of those that bothered voting?

crumpetbutter · 08/05/2015 22:28

Actually yes, the latter. So 37% of people who voted, voted Tory. And about 35% of those that could vote didn't.
